All the Good Eats

Happy Memorial Day!  Did you have a nice weekend? We had a great one!  We spent a lot of time outside… and a lot of time inside because we painted our master bedroom!  Some more on that tomorrow, though. Stupid = me feeding Claire in a walker.  I swear, just last week, I could ‘park’ [...]

Kiddo Update: Potty and Sleep Training

I have so many kid-related updates to share, so I thought I’d dedicate an entire post to it.  Let’s start off with the big boy, okay?   POTTY TRAINING  (Namaste tee!)   SO proud of Henry.  He’s potty trained (he’ll be three in a month)!  Wahoo. I was really intimidated to potty train, but it [...]

Things I’m Loving

The Kiddos: So, obviously, I am ALWAYS loving my kids.  But this week is particularly great!   I have lots of things to update you on (general cuteness, sleep training, and potty training), but that will go up in a post on Friday.  Stay tuned.   Wearing Colorful Lipstick: BFF Nicole and I always joke that [...]

3 major highlights from this race:   #1 - Immediately before the race, Brandi licked Shot Bloks and stuck them onto her bike’s frame, making them easily accessible during the ride.  No fussing with the wrapper on the road.  She swears by this technique!  Is that not the greatest idea ever?  Reminds me of the [...]

I have a LONG list on my phone of everything I need to do before my race.  Here are the highlights:   Figure out what shoes to run in and install my LockLaces. I have been training in the New Balance 880s and the Asics Gel Nimbus 17s.  I really like both (and will do [...]

Two Very Different Types of Training

I bought Claire a new exersaucer on consignment – she is so pleased.  I’ve never seen a baby love exersaucers and jumpers more than Claire (and Henry was super into them).  She’s been having the time of her life in this new one! Some days, I feel like I have the motherhood thing down.  I [...]

When It Rains

This weekend we escaped to Ocean Isle Beach.  I’ve never been to that part of the North Carolina shore before and was super excited for three days in the sun and sand.  I was doubly excited because we were going with a huge group of friends – a grand total of 10 adults and 11 [...]

Feeling Fine

How is your week going? I can’t believe it’s already Thursday.  Time flies when you’re cooped up in the house with a sick kiddo (just kidding – time craaaawls when you’re cooped up in the house with a sick kiddo!).  Henry has a bad but quick cold at the beginning of the week, so we [...]

A big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in Ironman April.  It was so fun to see everyone’s completed training plans (<—hey, you could always do Ironman May if you are just now seeing this!). The winners were Jessica, Andrea, and Charlotte, and they all get a pair of Balega socks.   Per the usual, [...]

Ready to Weekend

It’s FRIDAY! HAPPY DANCE! Here’s to hoping we have a fabulous weather weekend!  It always seems to rain on the weekends that I really, really want to be outside… I’m doing a local Girls on the Run 5K race tomorrow!  I’m so excited because I haven’t experienced a GOTR 5K since I was a coach [...]

Make Do

Me as a first-time mom:  Amazingly stocked dedicated diaper bag.  Diapers, wipes, first aid kit, extra outfits, toys, pacifiers, medicine, extra socks, back-up bottle, etc.  Never found without everything and anything I could possibly need to parent.   Me as a second-time mom: A couple pairs of diapers and a Ziploc bag of wipes thrown [...]

Birthday Weekend

This Sunday, I turned 31!  I can’t believe I’ve been writing this since I was 24… My, my – how time flies!  I woke up on my birthday to my toddler crying because I told him it was my birthday (apparently, that was upsetting) and went to bed at midnight while rocking a fussy baby.  [...]

All the Ways to Plank

You know how I mentioned that I was really, really tired yesterday? Well, Claire and I ended up taking a THREE HOUR NAP (Henry was at school), and it was the most glorious thing ever.  I couldn’t believe we both slept so long.  And it was one of those situations where I didn’t realize how [...]

Double Workouts and Lots of Pizza

I’m in “double workout” mode.  Multisport workouts are going to be the key to getting in decent triathlon shape before my May and August races. Obviously, my schedule isn’t super flexible with the kids. One of the things that I’ve learned is that is far more efficient and effective to do a handful of doubles [...]
