Post-Marathon Body

The Husband and I took some time out of our work schedules this afternoon to price gyms. We were members of LA Fitness until August, and then we quit because I was running outside so much.  Since it looks like I’m being relegated to the pool (details below) and the Husband misses being able to [...]

The Spark Giveaway

Good morning!  :)  My house is almost cleared of visitors – only my sister-in-law is left – which makes me sad.  I loved having everyone here!    A bowl of oatmeal cheered me up: Eaten with a tiny spoon, of course! These $1 spoons are from Crate and Barrel! My oatmeal contained:   1/2 cup [...]

Precautions

I’ll miss Lauren.  :( It was nice to see my college buddy… I hope we don’t go a YEAR without seeing each other next time!  She is lovely.  :)   Before I dropped off Lauren, we went to the outlet malls just to walk around.  We checked out Lululemon. All so true. :)   And [...]

Now What?

The first thing I thought when I got out of bed this morning is, “I need a new goal.” :)  I am too goal-oriented and internally competitive for my own good! I am still very happy with my marathon, but I need something NEW!  I just love to challenge myself physically and accomplish new things. [...]

Better Than Expected

Good afternoon!  :)  Today, I’m working a 1/2 day (in the evening) because Lauren is still here.   We both woke up sore, but I feel so much better than I expected to!  In fact, I’d venture to say that I feel AMAZING for someone who ran a marathon yesterday.  That’s a good thing because [...]

Disney Marathon Race Recap

After 21 weeks of training and more than 505 miles logged, I completed my first marathon and my 20th race!  I’m still in disbelief that Lauren and I did it – running 26.2 miles was so, so much harder than I thought it would be! I believe the Disney Marathon was an excellent first race [...]

My Proudest Morning

I am officially a marathoner! It was the most grueling, exciting, painful, exhilarating, and amazing experience of my life.  I am also SUPER sore!  :)  And hungry!   I finished in 4:53, holding Lauren’s hand.  Honestly, my time wasn’t important (although I’m proud of our 11:00-ish/average).  This race was about finishing strong and having fun [...]

Blogger Lunch and a Pasta Party

Less than 12 hours and I'll be on the bus, headed to the start line! :) I can't believe the MARATHON is here!   Thank you again for supporting me through this journey.  I especially want to thank everyone who contributed to my Team in Training efforts in the fight against cancer.  Together, we raised [...]

Doctor, Doctor!

I slept so well last night, and I woke up to a delicious breakfast!  A perfect start to Saturday, don’t you think? I’m going to try to step up my calories today (well, I technically started last night with dinner) in an effort to increase my glycogen stores in my muscles.  This will better prepare [...]

Family Fun

The corral issue has been solved! Thanks to my sub-2:00 half marathon, I was moved into Lauren's corral.  Boy, am I glad I PUSHED myself one month ago!  All is well now with the marathon plans for Lauren and I to run together.  :)  Wish I hadn't kept myself up all night worrying - it [...]

I Ate Mickey

Pancakes are back! And they are Mickey Mouse shaped, of course!  :)  I used my regular Hodgson’s Mills mix.  I ended up eating three pancakes, but the third Mickey was a little deformed and not blog-worthy. :) With a fruit salad, made by Lauren! I slept SO horribly last night.  You guys know I suffer [...]

Marathon Expo

Lauren is here! So excited to see my college friend’s smiling face!   I picked up Lauren from the airport around 2, and then we came back to the house for food.   I made Pumpkin Yogurt: And then it was time to hit up David’s Bridal.  We are both bridesmaids in our friend Sarah’s [...]

Running for Fun

Another Husband-prepared meal – I’m not sure what has come over him, but he’s been cooking up a storm in the kitchen today (he’s working from home, too). What is in today’s mystery wrap? This whole wheat wrap was stuffed with warmed kidney beans, zucchini, green pepper, cheese, and sun dried tomatoes.  It was GOOD! [...]
