The Daily Chore Calendar

Whoa.  It’s definitely an “accidentally pour the creamer into the French press, not the coffee cup” kind of morning.  Someone (let’s call him James) was up all night hacking his doggie brains out.  I felt so bad for him.  It was mostly dry heaving, so it wasn’t messy, but his little pup face looked miserable… [...]

Dead Legs

My butt actually hurts from sitting down all day.                         But a sore butt means I had a productive day, right?  Right!  No, seriously – I do really need to solution to the dead-leg feeling in the middle of the day.  It’s the worst on [...]

Triathlon FAQs Answered

Maybe it’s just me, but whoa – Monday seems to be whizzing by!  Which is a good thing (who likes Mondays?) and a bad thing (I’ve got to get stuff DONE!).    Lunch was fabulous.  Return of the Green Mmmm Sauce (I just add a few handfuls of spinach).  Love me some Mmmm Sauce.  I’m [...]

Check-Up

After running two races this weekend (recaps here), I must admit that I did absolutely nothing on Sunday except lay on my couch and eat way too much cereal and chocolate.  It was awesome.   But – here’s to another Monday!  Time to get back into the groove.   James had a vet appointment this [...]

My, oh my.  I felt good about today’s sprint tri, but I didn’t think it would go THIS well! I shaved almost 12 minutes off my previous person record!  Excuse me while I dust my shoulders off.  It feels so good to PR again – it doesn’t happen very often nowadays (my last was in [...]

Run for Your Cause 2011 Race Recap

Sometimes races are about setting personal records.  Sometimes races are about running new distances. Sometimes races are just about having fun.  Run for Your Cause 2011 was that kind of race!   I did the 4.0-mile course last year and smoked my expectations, crossing the finish line in 32:51.  I had to push really hard [...]

TGIF

Thank God it’s Friday.  Seriously.  Even if I work all weekend long, at least the official workweek is OVER.    Quick lunch in between tasks: This was really delicious and really, really fast:   I made quinoa (here’s how), defrosted some frozen corn and peas, adding in some kidney beans and cashews, and topped it off [...]

The Sales Pitch Got Me

The winner of the 10 Personal Questions game was Julie from A Case of the Runs.  In response to what she keeps on her beside table, Julie said, “I sleep in a bunk bed (still, at age 26), so I just stash my phone, a small flashlight, and lotion in the nook between the mattress [...]

Whoa Day

I had a very “WHOA” kind of day.  Lots and lots of action packed into just a few hours.  It’s not even 10 PM and my eye lids are already so heavy – it’s definitely going to be an early night.   Let’s see – I worked at the clinic this morning, and then escaped [...]

10 Personal Questions

What do you have on your bedside table?   My cell phone, my Kindle, my glasses, several hair fubbies (my word for hair ties), and my LadyComp.   Do you have a tattoo?   Yes, I have my mom’s name and my middle name tattooed on my hip – it’s Joy.  The Husband bought it [...]

Sun Butter Pancakes

Good morning!  Who wants pancakes? The Arrowhead Mills GF Pancake Mix isn’t that great, so I added 1/4 cup sunflower seed butter to the mix (1 cup dry’s worth, split between three of us).  WHOA.  Yeah – 1/4 cup of sun butter will make pretty much anything taste fantastic. With syrup and bananas: Anyone else [...]

Ride Inside

Does this count?  I know it’s not a true ride, but the summer storms rolled in this afternoon, and I’m so scared of biking in the rain!  However, I thought of how I had committed to a ride earlier, and instead of blowing it off, I rode inside on the Bell Motivator… while watching Teen [...]
