Recovery

Oh... my.... God.  I am so ridiculously sore from Crooms' 15.4 Mile Trail Run (read the recap here).  Even my back and abs hurt (from stabilizing).  And check out the bra burn I mentioned in last night's post: Ouch!   HAPPY EASTER!  I don't really celebrate Easter, but I like chocolate bunnies and Easter dinners.  [...]

Bra Burn and Amazing Mexican Food

When getting changed for my nap, I noticed that I have an intense sports bra burn all over my shoulders and ribcage.  It's literally a "rug burn" outline of  my bra.  OUCH!  I've never gotten bra burn this bad before.  Should've bought the Body Glide!   I rubbed Tiger Balm all over my legs before [...]

Crooms Fools Run 15 Mile Race Recap

WOW!  The Crooms Fools Run was the most physically and mentally challenging race I have ever completed!  By the end of the 15.4 mile course, I was absolutely SPENT (and really, really dirty!).  The trail itself was one of the most difficult aspects of the race.  With rolling rolls and varying surfaces (like compacted pine [...]

Healthy Sloppy Joes

Good afternoon!  I am very happy to say that I won't be working this afternoon, so I can actually enjoy the sunshine!   This morning, I drove downtown and strolled around beautiful Lake Eola for some exercise. I did a 1.0 mile loop while yakking to my mother on the phone.    I love Lake [...]

Race Prep

Good morning!  I was a flurry of activity this morning, trying to get ready for tomorrow's race.  I am excited/nervous about the race, as it not only is a trail race, but it's also the LONGEST distance I've ever tackled (15.0 miles).   As usual, I've photographed all my goodies so you can see what [...]

World’s Worst Fisherwoman, Round II

I am STILL the world's worst fisherwoman!  Now, it's the 6th time fishing, and I still haven't caught my large mouth bass. Before our BFF Harry and I went fishing, I had to finish up work...  here are my mid-afternoon snacks:   Chobani and cereal: Cantaloupe: Orange: We went back to the same spot as [...]

Do You Feel Sorry for Celebrities?

Afternoon!  How's it going for you?  I had the most delicious and well-balanced lunch, which always makes me happy! The 'bulk' of my meal was a spinach salad was grilled chicken. A tiny side of grapes... And an English muffin with a smear of cottage cheese.... I've been making a real effort to get in [...]

The Elusive Barney Butter

Good morning! For some reason, I was so AWAKE this morning.  I typically struggle every morning to wake up and stumble around in a deadly haze for the first thirty minutes or so.... but today I feel chipper and alert! :)  Perhaps because it's Thursday??   Plus, I had a special breakfast to look forward [...]

Discovery Channel is Gratuitous

Good evening!  I skipped my cross training because I thought I was getting together with some friends for poker, but alas... our plans fell through.  At least I got a lot of Law and Order time in.  :)   Mid-afternoon snackies:   Grapes: Chobani and cereal: Dates around 5:30 to hold me through to dinner: [...]

Flashback: Wedding Rehearsal Dinner

Since an intense virus scan is currently being run on my work computer and I cannot work, I thought I'd do a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner post!   As you may know, I was married on January 3.  Posting around that time became increasingly sporadic, and I never got to share the details of our WONDERFUL [...]

Portion Control for the Real World

It's early for me to post my lunch, but seeing as my work computer is currently engaged in anti-virus activity (I have the Vundo virus... I feel so dirty), I figured I might as well post!   Lunch was very delicious.  I'm glad I've rediscovered veggie burgers -- so quick and so easy (I buy [...]
