Saturday Waffles

in All Posts

Morning!  It’s a lazy one over here.  We stayed up far too long and slept in.  And then I made us breakfast:

Waffles with Greek yogurt, strawberries, and dried cranberries.

And tea, of course.  Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could train your dog to make and bring you tea in the morning?  I imagine James walking over like a little doggie butler on his hind legs, carrying the tray between his little furry paws (kind of like Faith the Two-Legged Wonder Dog – have you ever seen her?!).

Goal for today: a long walk.  And figure out how to change a light fixture.  What are you gunning for?

Thought of the Day:

I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.” – Martha Washington

Maybe it’s because I am 22 weeks prego, but I just cried like a baby at that Faith video! What a cutie! How is your sleeping going now that you are into the home stretch? Has it gotten super uncomfortable? I am suffering with a wee bit of insomnia, but no discomfort yet!

Enjoy your walk! I love starting my day off with a walk, haha lucky me that’s built into my commute to school!

Its snowing up in Minnesota so the long walk I was hoping for probably isn’t going to happen. However, I do need to sort laundry, and pack for my trip and 5k next weekend!

I love love love that quote. I am a firm believer in the idea that a majority of the time we are very much in control of our own happiness.

I enjoyed a very similar breakfast this morning! UNwaffles with greek yogurt, strawberries, and an orange on the side. http://dontforgetthecinnamon.wordpress.com/2012/04/21/aint-no-waffle/

your waffles always look especially delicious!! i am determined to train my dog to fetch the paper (which would require actually ordering a paper subscription)… wouldn’t that be amazing?!

Happy weekend! If you are interested, I just found this beautiful movie called “Birth Marking” and wanted to share it with you. It is such a great vehicle for women’s positive self-image! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfOBGQpG9fA&feature=player_embedded#!

What GF batter/product do you use for your waffles? Recently gone GF per MD recommendations, and my first box of pancake/waffle mix is a Bisquick mix. It’s decent, but just wondering what else might be out there!

I think that is Bob Red Mill. The Bisquik one is super good IMO. And it’s affordable!
