Home Savory Home

Back in Charlotte!  I missed home.  And all the kisses and cuddles that come with with it.

Maggie:  One crayon short of a full box.

The Husband and I drove directly from the airport to the clinic so we could get some work done, and then we headed home for lunch. I was so in the mood for a savory omelet.

Not sure what happened with this omelet, but it definitely did not flip properly in the pan.  I followed all my usual instructions for making a pretty omelet, too!  The nice thing about omelets is that the perfect and messy ones all taste the same.

With spinach and goat cheese on the inside.

And bread and fruit for munchinโ€™ on the side.

I hope you are having a fabulous day, too!

Thanks for the omelette tips! I’ve been tweaking that talent for years…still don’t have it down pat but I’m sure your pointers will go a long way!

let’s just say my favorite restaurant omelette is not winning any presentation awards — sometimes i think the messier the tastier!

I am addicted to taco sauce on my eggs. I keep a giant bottle right next to the stove because that’s how often I eat it! Haha ๐Ÿ™‚

Just tried goat cheese for the first time, can you believe it took me this long? It’s soooo creamy. I’m looking forward to a nice veggie and goat cheese omlet! Yum ๐Ÿ™‚

Yum, nothing like a good omelet. I never used to like eggs as much when I was little, but now I could eat them at all meals.

Most of my omelets turn out to be pretty ones, but every once in awhile I have a very messy one! I always top them with salsa!!!

  • Katie @ Peace Love & Oats February 21, 2012, 6:24 pm

that orange looks delicious! I’m obsessed with citrus right now!

  • TeenyLittleSuperChef February 21, 2012, 7:28 pm

Glad you made it home okay! Gotta love being greeted by not only human but canine kisses too. Always makes coming home that much more sweet. And you’re totally right about messy omelets. Who cares how they look, they still eat the same. I feel the same about cake. As long as it tastes good, I don’t care if doesn’t look as good as a bakery’s.

Maggie looks so cute in that picture! I’d be happy to come home to that face, too!*

CNN is doing a series on “What Does Beauty Mean to You”… it made me think of the Naked Face Project! Check it out:) http://ireport.cnn.com/topics/751511?hpt=he_t4

That picture of Maggie made me laugh so hard.

  • Susan February 21, 2012, 8:42 pm

Why all the bashing of Maggie? I don’t get it.

  • Ashley February 21, 2012, 9:32 pm

Nothing better than coming home to pups that miss and love you so much!

  • Carin February 21, 2012, 11:41 pm

Aw! Your naked face looks so sweet and so happy to be home! I’m often accused of being younger and I think it’s due to not wearing make up much.

In my expert (hah!) opinion, I think your eggs needed a little more mixing – not OVER mixing, just a little more mixing. Yes, in addition to my many other skills, I am an omelettemeister.

  • Ashley @ Cooking for John February 22, 2012, 1:27 am

This picture of you and Maggie is priceless. You must frame!!
