Today’s Forecast

in All Posts

My kitchen is a barometer for how pulled together of a mommy I am on any given day.

Today’s forecast is overwhelmed with a chance of forgetting to feed the dogs.  Oh, wait.  Be right back…

Anyway…

Henry gave me a run for my money last night.   Luckily, the Husband is working a late shift at work and didn’t have to leave until 11, so I handed H off at 8:30 and crawled back into bed.  The only problem with the grand master plan is that I woke up at 11 absolutely STARVING and going through major caffeine withdrawals.

Nothing that breakfast and coffee can’t fix.

Almond butter toast

Peach

Eggs

This So Delicious French Vanilla coconut milk creamer is the best.  I hide extra cartons in the back of the fridge so friends and family who stop by don’t drink it all!

In other news, I am sore as all hell from the Ripped in 30 workout DVD.  My arms and thighs are burning; I was planning to do it again today but definitely need a rest from Jillian.  Whew.

When I got the DVD I remember thinking “24 minutes? I got this!”

Yea, no. That workout is a challenge and a half.

I always find the first few workouts of a new (or revisited) strength workout are always the ones that leave me the sorest!

We had the cat act as our alarm clock this mornign. We got lucky there – we were dangerously close to oversleeping.

I still want to try one of Jillian’s DVDs! I keep being reminded when other bloggers post about them but tend to do most of my workouts in the gym. Looking into getting it now! 🙂 (PS. hope your arms aren’t too sore… I’m sure Henry gives them quite the workout too!)

My mom has a container in the fridge labeled “liver” YUCK! Well guess what… it does NOT have liver inside but something goey and sweet. It took me five years to figure that out.

Hahaha this is hilarious! Caitlin – I love that you hide the good stuff from people… I do the same thing, too. I keep my special bag of “emergencies only” candy hidden in my closet 😉

Ha! Your mom is my hero.

Yum, that coconut creamer is the best! How do you find the caffeine affects henry? Im breastfeeding now with my little guy and trying to figure out the best way to enjoy a little caffeine 🙂 Do you drink after a feed or just wing it? Thanks!!

    -a very sleepy momma!

I love that creamer! My favorite use for it is in oatmeal. Yum!

  • theorist August 16, 2012, 2:42 pm

LOL! Hilarious post. I am on a Jillian time out as well. Going back in Friday! Who’s with me?!?!

All of your posts about baby being up constantly at night bring back major memories. My girl is almost 9 months and still doesn’t sleep through the night, but it’s a lot better than it was. I promise that sleep will come eventually…hang in there! The first 6 months are so, so hard.

  • Helen August 16, 2012, 5:42 pm

I’m just wondering, do you ever express and have Kristien do night feeds? Or is H breast feeding exclusively when convenient (i.e not on road trips) Just wondering as that’s what a couple of my friends did (early/late shifts) and I’m thinking of doing that if/when…

  • Megan August 17, 2012, 2:31 am

I totally feel ya with the kitchen craziness. Some days my dishwasher stays open, bottles clutter the counter, the pump is out with parts everywhere etc. Ha! I just keep telling myself that as long as I feed the baby + keep her alive it has been a successful day!

  • Lexi @ You, Me, & A World to See August 17, 2012, 10:12 pm

I’ve been using those NuNaturals drops in my coffee too! 🙂

My EYES are always the sign of how I’m doing on any given day. And most days they are so sunken in I look like the crypt keeper. Not a good look.
