West Coast

Welcome to California!

After 10+ hours of traveling, I am finally on the West Coast, happily blogging from the floor of Jenna’s living room.

I got sucked into the weird vortex of traveling and time zone changes… I pretty much ate continuously munching through my flights + a bad chick lit novel.

A breakfast bar, crackers, more crackers (they were freebies), and a veggie sub from Subway.  Lots of carbs, but I guess that’s a good thing before my big race!

When Jenna picked me (plus my bike!) up from the airport, she brought vegan chocolate chip cookies, and I ate 3 as we drove home.

We unpacked my bike and discovered all the parts were still there (I was afraid someone was going to steal my handlebars or something!):

Now we just need to put it all together again.  We’ll save that for tomorrow!

Off to spoon with Jenna!

We’re going to bed at 10 PM on a Friday.  We’re mature like that.

  • Freya @ Brit Chick Runs May 22, 2010, 2:57 am

Yat, I’m glad you arrived safe! Your airline had Subway on the flight!? That’s impressive! Better than standard airline food…!!

  • Nicole @ Geek Turned Athlete May 22, 2010, 3:10 am

Yay! I’m always paranoid about baggage handlers or security guys going through my suitcase and stealing stuff especially underwear. I had some underwear go missing once, and I swear it was after I already packed it and put it on the belt to be taken to my next destination. When I opened my suitcase, all I had was a piece of paper telling me my back had been searched and my fav thong missing! Anyway, totally random story! Have fun! haha

  • Wei-Wei May 22, 2010, 3:26 am

10 pm is my normal Friday bedtime too. I’m too exhausted by the end of the week. And I bet your travels wore you out.

  • steph-exercise physiologist and artist! May 22, 2010, 9:48 am

the trip out west is always easier to adjust to than the trip back east! That works out well since you will need all your energy for Sunday!
For some reason long trips equal munching for me but not really mindless b/c I feel actual hunger signals. For me it might be anxious anticipation but who knows?!
Happy you made it and were even able to go to bed early!
