5.0 wonderful miles on my favorite running trail on Earth!

[CIMG1479[3].jpg]

Florida Christmas is the best kind of Christmas – even better than a White Christmas!

The Husband didn’t want to run, so he rode a bike alongside of me.  It was like I had my own support crew on the run! It was so nice to have someone else carrying my water bottle – except he would stick it out and then bike faster so I had to catch up for a drink!

My favorite running trail goes along the intracoastal waterway and through several mangrove swamps!  It’s so pretty, and I always feel so invigorated after a run at my in-laws’ house.

Here are my statistics:

  • Distance: 5.0 miles
  • Duration: 48:06 minutes
  • Mile 1: 9:43
  • Mile 2: 9:44
  • Mile 3: 9:43
  • Mile 4: 9:41
  • Mile 5: 9:15

I booked it at the end, imaging the finish line at the Disney Marathon looming over my in-laws’ house! The big race is so close!

Before the run, I had whole wheat toast with cream cheese:

And afterwards, I had a big bowl of banana oatmeal.

My oatmeal contained:

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vanilla soy milk
  • 1 sliced banana
  • Toppings:  brown sugar, salted pistachios, and strawberries

The salty + sweet combination of the pistachio and the brown sugar was DIVINE!  So delicious.

Time to drive back to Orlando… see you at the airport!

I’ve always had white Christmases — or, at the very least, cold Christmases — it might be nice to head South one winter to see what it’s like! 🙂

    Have a safe flight!

Sounds like a beautiful run! We always used to open gifts the night before Christmas and then we’d fly to Florida to spend the holiday with extended family. As much as I love waking up to snow, I LOVE spending several days in the sunny warm Florida weather!

The trail looks beautiful! I would run a lot if I had that to look at everyday!

Have a safe flight — I can’t believe how warm and beautiful it looks. We still have 2 feet on the ground here, melting slowly.

I live in Boston so I always have a white Christmas, I don’t see what the hype is- I’d MUCH rather be in Florida!

    That trail looks awesome.

A warm Christmas might be nice… but I think you’d be hard pressed to take me away from our White Christmas. I love it, so gorgeous outside!

Ooooh, we have some pistachios at home that I’ll have to try on my oatmeal when we get back. Yum!
