Dratz!

in All Posts

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Cory from Zesty Cook!  "Zesty" is an amazing e-friend, a great blogger, and a wonderful Healthy Living Summit sponsor.  Happy Birthday, Cory!  I hope Mrs. Zesty and the little Zests have something fun planned for you today! 🙂

I fully intended to wake up at 5:20 AM so I could pound out 8 miles before work, but instead I was awoken to a gentle stream of sunshine coming through my window….

CIMG8082

Dratz! I’m going to try to squeeze in my run at a long lunch break or this evening.

Breakfast looked good, but for some reason I wasn’t feeling it.

CIMG8083

My oatmeal contained:

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 sliced banana
  • Toppings: blackberries, coconut, flax

CIMG8084

I only ate half.  What’s wrong with me today?  I overslept and I didn’t devoured breakfast??  Weird.

I don't know how you can get up that early! I admire you for that and many other things! Enjoy your Friday!

  • fashionablyfit August 7, 2009, 4:57 am

Love the coconutty oatmeal! I always feel like my whole day is off I sleep in later than I intended.

  • runnerskitchen August 7, 2009, 5:00 am

I slept in as well today. It's 8am and all I've done so far is drink coffee 🙂 I vote for a lunchtime run. I always return to my desk feeling accomplished and mentally charged!

  • Anna August 7, 2009, 5:00 am

Hahahaha I literally LOLed at "mrs. zesty and the little zests" part.

  • Sarah (Running To Slow Things Down) August 7, 2009, 5:08 am

Sometimes sleeping in is good for the body…especially when it's not *all* the time. 🙂

    Happy FRIDAY! 😀

Commence the deluge of pregnancy speculation posts in 3, 2, 1…

(You know what happens in the blogworld when a girl so much as mentions she's not hungry/has a stomachache/feels tired/didn't drink wine one night — people go nuts).

I decided to wake up at 5:00 today to go to a spinning class. My boyfriend was coming to sleep as I was getting up. haha He was my alarm clock!

  • Jenn Eats Nutritiously Now August 7, 2009, 5:21 am

Maybe that was just your body's way of telling you that you needed more rest? I'm sure you'll get your run in sooner or later 🙂

  • Meganerd August 7, 2009, 5:21 am

Your body probably needed the rest after working 8 am to 9 pm! And running 4 miles!

    cut yourself some slack 😀

  • recipesforcreativity August 7, 2009, 5:23 am

I would have slept in, too, but on purpose! Good luck fitting it in later.

  • Stacey August 7, 2009, 5:26 am

  • Diane, Fit to the Finish August 7, 2009, 6:13 am

I like to get up early, blog and exercise before all the kids (7) come tumbling down the stairs!

I hate it when I feel behind because I overslept. Maybe though, you just needed the extra rest.

    Have a great day!

Gah! I somehow slept through my alarm this AM–luckily I still made it to work on time–and I NEVER sleep through my alarm. Whoops!! I didn't have a run on the agenda this AM, but I still have some yoga… Oh well, I guess I can get that in after work today.

    Happy Friday!

Great post, Caitlin — and that breakfast looks delicious. We actually have a posted lined up for next week about the benefits of flax and how to use it in your daily meals. You do a great job of that!

This is random but it just popped into my head: if you ever want to create a blog for james or maggie you could call it "Healthy Yipping Point" ahahha. I don't know why that amuses me so much but it does.

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point August 7, 2009, 9:44 am

Yummm … that oatmeal looks delicious. Too bad you weren't feeling it this morning! You must accomplish SO much getting up there early! I have been off all summer (Teacher) and I haven't accomplished anything! I need to get in gear!

I must tell you that you have inspired me to start my own blog! Check it out if you get a chance:

Wow! I can't believe you woke up at 5:20 to run 8 miles! Now that's dedication!! I have to be at work at 6:30 every morning and I alway try to motivate myself to get up early and at least stretch before I leave for work! But run 8 miles..in the heat…I don't think I could do it! Go you!
