This morning, I woke up early so I could get some movement in.  3 days without cardio makes Caitlin a very unhappy lady!  I repeated the same  routine as last week.   Here’s the twenty minute dance party workout:

  • Dance around living room, 2 minutes
  • Jumping Jacks, 2 minutes
  • Shadowing Boxing with 3 lb weights, 2 minutes
  • 10 Bench Presses with 20 lb dog 🙂
  • 20 push-ups
  • 100 sit-ups
  • Dance around living room, 2 minutes
  • High Kicks, 1 minute
  • Shadowing Boxing with 3 lb weights, 2 minutes
  • 40 Chest flys with 3 lb weight
  • 20 Reverse Crunches
  • Dance for remaining 4 minutes

Since so many people have requested this, here is proof I use Maggie as a dumbbell for bench presses:

She really likes it. :)  I give her belly kisses on the way down.

For breakfast, I made a Green Monster and some toast:

My Green Monster contained:

  • 2 cups kale
  • 1 cup water (I was out of milk.  Water doesn’t taste too good in GMs)
  • 1 tablespoon flax
  • 1 banana

Drink me!

Plus, toast with some PB:

The Countdown Begins!

Only 2 days until I leave for my trip to Tennessee! I am so excited to see my Mommy (yes, like Meghann, I called her mommy still).

We went to Tennessee last year and had so much fun!  I love to get out of the city and do some country-ish activities.  I have strong Southern roots.  :)

We went on a Riverboat cruise:

Look who was going through a blonde phase!  Yea… I dyed in back to brown shortly thereafter.

We went on a hike with my aunt and uncle:

Well, I carried Maggie the entire time.

We petted donkeys:

And lambs:

And played with my auntie’s pitbull, Mavis.  Isn’t she the CUTEST pit you’ve ever seen?

We also toured the University of Tennessee stadium (the Husband is obsessed with stadiums):

We went horseback riding in the Smokey Mountains!

Horseback riding was fun but kind of nervewracking.  I remember my horse’s name was Oprah.

Good memories!  I’m going by myself this year so I’ll miss the dogs and the Husband very much.  But my mom and I had lots of fun, blog-worthy activities planned!

Where’s your favorite place to vacation?

  • Anonymous August 6, 2009, 4:53 am

    You look GORGEOUS blonde!

  • Erica August 6, 2009, 4:54 am

hahahaha I love the picture of your using Maggie as a weight. So freaking cute.

Hooray for your upcoming trip! Its such a blast to have things like that to look forward to. I love the pictures from last year! I would love to bring Frank on hikes/long walks, but I would have to carry him as well….and 62 lbs gets heavy quick.

    Have a great Thursday

  • ferrellslove August 6, 2009, 5:00 am

Yay for Tennessee. I was born and raised right outside Nashville and still live there. I have traveled around the country and have yet to find a place as beautiful as Tennessee, especially if you want to experience all of the seasons. Have a great trip!

  • Sarah (Running To Slow Things Down) August 6, 2009, 5:05 am

Haha…Maggie makes the perfect weight. Too cute. 😀

And what an awesome vacation!! I love going to the White Mountains, New Hampshire, mostly because I have so many great memories there and its such a great place to be active while having good eats along the way too. 😀

Although the one time I went to Florida is at the top of my favorite vacation list too. 😀

  • Ashley Lauren August 6, 2009, 5:06 am

  • recipesforcreativity August 6, 2009, 5:25 am

I live on the other side of the Smoky's, in Western North Carolina! I love it here, but since I live in the mountains I love to vacation at the beach! The boy and I have been to Hawaii, Florida, and beaches in North and South Carolina, all were fun!

  • Lori August 6, 2009, 5:28 am

    Love the dumbbell LOL!!

  • Nikky August 6, 2009, 5:33 am

    Maggie the weight is adorable.

San Diego for sure, it's my favorite place in the world. My late Grandma's brother lives there, and we went out to see him a few times. I would choose it over any spot on the planet.

I did go to Asheville, NC this past February for my brother's funeral. It wasn't a vacation by any means, but I think during better times it could be fun to visit. The mountains were gorgeous, though terrifying to drive through…

  • seesaraheat August 6, 2009, 5:37 am

I so want to try that with my dog who is a similar size, I'll have to when I get home! Except she might squirm too much, hehe.

Have a great time on your trip! I'm from Kentucky so Tennessee is my neighbor 😉

  • Ada August 6, 2009, 5:40 am

Wow, you and your mom look exactly alike! I hope you have a fun trip, I bet it will be a blast:)

  • Glo August 6, 2009, 5:42 am

  • Stacey August 6, 2009, 5:46 am

Sounds fun! I'm excited to read about it, haha 🙂

  • Britt August 6, 2009, 5:47 am

Maggie looks so funny as a weight, I don't think my beagle Reggie would go for that… I might try though. 😉

I cannot pick just one place…. I love outer Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Key West and New Orleans.

    Have a fabulous trip!!

  • Samma August 6, 2009, 5:53 am

Caitlin I'm right down the road in West Knoxville- Sequoyah Hills area. There's a great running trail that goes along the river if you are over my way 🙂

Thanks for sharing the vacation pics from last year! Looks like you are going to have a great time! My favorite place to vacation is actually very close to where I live…Cape Cod! The beaches are amazing and the best part is that its only about an hours drive from my house. The best part? NO airports (i'm in them enough for work! Have a fabulous vacation and visti with your family.

  • emily August 6, 2009, 8:04 am

  • theangrydieter August 6, 2009, 8:09 am

The best vacation ever was when I went to Maui with my mom and 2 sisters. I also love Toronot (especially since it's cheaper to get there and a lot closer than Hawaii!)

  • Anonymous August 6, 2009, 8:28 am

You are really beautiful blonde… you should dye it back!!!!!

  • eatingmachine August 6, 2009, 8:29 am

haha I still call my mom "mommy", and when I got engaged she sent flowers that said "love mom and dad".
When I asked her about it she told me she didn't want the people at the flower shop to wonder how someone was old enough to be getting married and still be getting flowers from "mommy and daddy".
I'm glad I'm not the only one!

  • Anna August 6, 2009, 8:32 am

You look good as a blonde 🙂
