A Really GREAT Day

in All Posts

I am having an unexpectedly wonderful day!  I hope you’re having a nice Saturday, too.

I had to work this morning, and since I was late, I didn’t pack lunch.  I grabbed a banana and a Kashi bar on the way out the door:

Which I ate around 10 and 11, respectively.  I got hungry again around 12:00 so I was forced to raid the vending machine.  The healthiest choice I could find were Sun Chips:

I got bored at work and posted two Operation Beautiful notes:

After work, I called up the Husband and asked if he wanted to meet me downtown for a romantic lunch.  I love downtown Orlando — it is so beautiful and eclectic (which is surprising because we’re such a tourists town!).

We chose to go to a new place called Dexter’s because they had several vegetarian-friendly options on the menu. Plus, the place was pretty busy for 2 PM, which is always a good sign!

We were naughty and ordered mimosas.  I got a pineapple one and the Husband got a peach one.

Mmm!

For my entree, I ordered the grilled veggie sammie.  It came with zucchini, squash, alfalfa sprouts, pesto, pepper, tomato, onion, and pepperjack cheese.  It was INSANELY delicious.

We split a plate of fresh fruit:

And I stole a few of the Husband’s fries:

I had a really great lunch with the Huz.  If you are in Orlando, go to Dexter’s!  The food was GREAT and the prices were right, too.  🙂

I posted two more Operation Beautiful notes at Dexter’s – I was on quite the spree today.

The Husband and I split and I went to go get my hair cut.  Alta Moda is the best salon in Orlando — I highly recommend it.

I felt like my loooong hair was taking over my face.  It was all one layer and I desperately needed to get some hair thinned out and layered.  I’m very happy for with my new cut!

Off to get some chores done! I had planned on a run but it is literally 95 degrees outside and I just don’t think I can stomach it — perhaps tomorrow AM?

I LOVE Dexter's! But they aren't that new :D…we go there for brunch nearly every time I'm in town. They have great Friday Night drink specials too!

I'm glad you're having a good day…you need it with all the work you've been doing!

I can't believe you live in Orlando and this was your first time at Dexter's. Their sandwiches are soo good.

Your hair looks really good. I'll have to check out that salon sometime. I bet it's really expensive, huh?

sara are you in orlando? we should hang once my schedule settles down (after the summit).

alta moda is a moderate salon. my cut was $55. i grew up in miami and paid $75 for cuts so i consider$55 to be a decent price. plus, i only get a cut ever 5 months. it's all relative i suppose!

Wow – never knew Orlando was so lovely. 🙂

And I am still on the hunt for a good hair dresser – they are hard to find. I had such a great one then I had to move! The hunt continues!

The sandwich looks amazing! I love your new haircut – I'm due for one soon 🙂

  • Angie (Losing It and Loving It) July 25, 2009, 6:37 pm

    Your hair looks great!

I have never had a mimosa but I plan to change that when we go to Jamaica in Dec. Looks yummy.

  • Kimberly July 25, 2009, 7:14 pm

Oh, LOVE Dexter's! My fam frequents the Lake Mary location; it's one of the few places on which we can all agree. You must try the orange salmon or oven-skillet salad – awesome.

I'm glad you had such a great day! That sandwich looks so good! Love the hair 🙂

I love the haircut! Looks good on ya sista. I can't rock long locks, the stuff is too thick and I end up sweating all summer and/or ponytailing the mess.

  • Therese July 27, 2009, 5:48 pm

Oh my gosh! Who does your hair? I have a friend who works at Alta Moda lol.

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point July 27, 2009, 6:41 pm
