Sometimes just eat cereal for dinner.  :)  And cherries

I am taking some much-needed R&R tonight, but I’ll be back tomorrow with a 5 or 6 mile run recap.  I really want to break into 13 or 14 miles this week, as I need to start building mileage for my upcoming 15K race.

In the meantime…. here are three fun facts about me:

  • I have my middle name (also my mother’s name) tattooed on my hip.
  • Once I almost bungee jumped, but I backed out at the top and made them refund my money!
  • I am a really, really bad driver.  Terrible.  People hate being my passenger and complain the entire time.

What are three fun facts about you?

    Here are my three facts:

    1. I hate mayo so much that if I get served it on a sandwhich or a heavy salad dressing my immediate reaction is a rage-filled anger whereby I want to throw the food across the rooms. It's so weird. I have to take deep breaths.

    I am a lawyer.

I have over 20 tattoos, most of which I have to cover for work.

There is one very popular food blog that infuriates me so much — the girl just makes me so freaking mad — but i just keep reading it to torture myself. (And i don't make any rude comments on her blog; I keep it all to myself because there's no need to hurt feelings.)

  • *Andrea* July 25, 2009, 6:58 pm

    1. I am an anti-violence educator, and work to prevent violence against women, but my two favorite t.v. shows are The Sopranos and The Wire- both of which regularly show violence against women and the degradation and objectification of women.

    2. I have two tattoos, one was professionally done and reads "a lovely light" which is a line from a poem by Edna St. Vincent Millay. The second was done by my best friend during her pregnancy using a sewing needle and India ink (aka a "stick and poke"- she had to go over it 4 times, so she did it throughout her pregnancy, and then went over it the last time while I was on my first date with my partner). It is a spiral, to symbolize breaking free of the cycles and patterns we put ourselves in.

    3. I am starting school in the fall to be a therapist, and will eventually be working with both survivors and perpetrators of domestic and sexual violence. I work my ass off. I'm really good at my job. The random part? I dream of being a stay-at-home mom.

I was supposed to have two middle names, but there was a mix-up and I only got one, two years later my sister got it. Roxanne.

I have been a tomboy all my life, climbed the tallest of trees on to the scariest of limbs. I get nauseous in elevators, can't stand glass buildings and rooftops becausr I'm afraid of heights.

I read Wuthering Heights, the unabridged version when I was 8 and wrote a paper on it when I was 16 without ever reading it again. I got an "A+". My mother bought me the book hoping to slow me down and save herself some money (I read about 3 books a week). I read it in a week and a half.

Frannie I talk to myself too, loudly and in public, anywhere in public (it's great for decision making). My mother always says that you are okay just as long as you don't answer yourself.

  • mamasweeds July 26, 2009, 12:55 pm

OMGoodness my middle name is my mother's maiden name too! I also gave my oldest daughter my mother's maiden name for her middle name. My second daughter's middle name is my husband's mother's maiden name. It's different and I love it. I've never known someone else who had their mother's maiden name as their middle name.

Might as well give two more fun facts while I'm at it here, eh?

I got my nose pierced this year on my 30th birthday.

I have naturally curly hair that I blow dry straight.

  • mamasweeds July 26, 2009, 12:59 pm

Whoops I mean I gave my oldest daughter MY maiden name for her middle name.

And actually my middle name is my maiden name too.

My initials use to be ASK… and then my husband's last name starting with S. So my new, married initials? ASS.

    Nice.

So I bumped my maiden into the middle name spot and have the initials AKS instead of ASS.

    There's a bonus "interesting fact".
