Mix My Granola

in All Posts

Good morning!  I stayed up really late last night, and as a result, actually ended up getting hungry again! :)  I had a small bowl of cereal and then I called it a night:

For accountability’s sake. 🙂

I technically have today off, but I’m going to go into the office for a little and maybe do some editing work pool-side.  I’m just feeling relieved that it’s Friday!

MixMyGranola.com Review

Mix My Granola is certainly taking the blog world by storm, and there’s a very good reason — it’s AMAZING!

You all know that I’m a granola guru, so when Mix My Granola offered me a chance to try out their product, I jumped on it!

Mix My Granola is a customizable granola site.  You choose the base, dried fruit mix-ins, nut mix-ins, and tons of other yummy treats, like chocolate covered pretzels, gummy bears, chocolate drops, and more.  I was impressed with how easy and fast the website is — it took me minutes to choose and order my granola.

I chose:

  • Organic granola base
  • Dried Blackberries
  • Organic Dates
  • Brazil Nuts

I ordered the granola on Tuesday and it was delivered on Wednesday! Now, that’s what I call customer service.  Plus, the granola comes with this cute customized label.

I really think Mix My Granola would make an excellent gift for a fellow foodie, especially with this cute label.

Since Mix My Granola is a little calorie dense, I ate mine on top of a reduced bowl of banana oatmeal:

Trust me, it tasted as good as it looks!

My oatmeal contained:

  • 1/3 cup oatmeal
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 sliced banana
  • Toppings: 1/4 scoop Mix My Granola

Two HUGE thumbs up!

If you want to try Mix My Granola, come back on Monday.  I’ll be announcing a giveaway for a $20 gift certificate. You can order a Mix My Granola  for yourself and one for a friend! 🙂

I am impressed by how simple you were able to keep your granola mix– I look at that site and mentally can’t resist adding everything in. But when it comes down to it, sometimes simple is best!

  • Tina April 17, 2009, 9:26 am

I’ve looked into that granola but was a little scared of the price. Did you find it was worth the cost?

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point April 17, 2009, 9:27 am

Tina – it IS very yummy. but yes, its expensive. i think it would be a fun treat or gift to give someone, but it wouldn’t replace my normal granola (due to cost).

I tried the mix my granola too when I won a gift card, but it took 7 days to get to me since I’m in Vegas and it didn’t have the crunchy, clumpy quality that I like my granola to be (maybe because of the long travel?) But, it was a lot of fun to make and yours looks delicious. I think I’m going to use it more for muesli!
