The Other Side of the Race

in All Posts

Good morning! Well, last night the Husband and I decided on getting ICE CREAM! MMM.  I haven’t been to Coldstone Creamy since the summertime!

I got a small coffee with Twix and Graham Cracker.

As if that wasn’t enough sugar in my life, this morning I heated up a homemade frozen waffle.

Breakfast included: a WW waffle topped with pecans, strawberries, a sliced banana, and MS for dipping.  Plus a coffee, of course.  It was good!

The Other Side of the Race

I’m up at an ungodly hour for a Saturday (6 AM) because I’m going to go support Meghann in her triathlon today!  The tri is at the beautiful Moss Park, which is located in southeastern Orlando and contains a huge natural preserve.

I’m excited to be on the other side of the race.  This morning was pretty relaxing without any pre-race nerves!! :)  And it’s nice not to be rushing around like a crazy lady to get everything ready.  Of course, there is a teeny tiny part of me that wishes I was racing, too…. but mostly, I’m happy I’m NOT doing a tri this morning because me and tri’s do not get along.

If you missed my recap of my failed triathlon, check it out here!   YES — I was disqualified from a race, can you believe it? Me neither!  Oh well, the story is pretty amusing in hindsight.   Here’s me giving it a "tri":

I am packing my running clothes and shoes because I might hit up the trails at Moss Park before I come home.  🙂

GOOD LUCK MEGHANN!  And have a wonderful day, everyone!

  • Dori March 14, 2009, 6:48 am

I haven’t had cold stone in forever – I love cake batter with brownie chunks!

  • Betsy March 14, 2009, 6:48 am

What a great friend you are! 🙂

Last night we went out for ice cream too… but we went to Baskin Robbins which is right across from Coldstone in Squirrel Hill, and then Ben & Jerrys is a couple stores away. A little excessive but I'll allow it!

I love Coldstone. Hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Just wanted to fill you in on the Britney concert! She was awesome, of course. I loved the setup of the stage and the AMAZING dancing. She really seemed to be having a genuinely great time, which is so nice to see after everything she’s been through. Great set list, amazing remix of HMBOMT. Lots of cool special effects like fire and puffs of air coming up from the stage. And best of all, Britney is a great model for a healthy body image for girls of all ages. I’m almost 27, and it helped my body image so much to see her up there dancing with pride — she has major CURVES and major leg MUSCLES. Not a rib to be seen — no skinny girl here. Not that there’s anything wrong with skinny, but it’s nice to see something different and beautiful — and someone who is proud of showing that off.

    have fun at the race!

  • Christine March 14, 2009, 9:24 am

I often get the urge to “tri” ..then it goes away..only to come back again. One of these days I’m just going to take the “plunge”

  • Christine March 14, 2009, 9:35 am

Have you heard of the “sans fat” ice cream at coldstone? I def want to check it out! The race im running this weekend gives you 10% off at coldstone if you go in the race shirt…def enticing

  • redheadedjournal March 14, 2009, 10:09 am

    Enjoy watching the race!

  • Sarah (lovINmytummy) March 14, 2009, 10:46 am

Glad you got your ice cream. Twix is crazy good, but I don’t think you can eat it in layers when it is chopped up on ice cream 😉

    Have a great day!

  • Run Saraaah March 14, 2009, 10:56 am

Have fun watching the race – that’s so awesome of you to support your friend so early in the AM! Great idea with freezing homemade waffles.

  • livelovelaugheatlearn March 14, 2009, 10:57 am

Those pecans look perfect on your waffe!

I woke up at 6:30 today for no reason…. at least your early morning was for a good cause! Hope you had nice weather for the race!

  • Bec March 14, 2009, 11:05 am
