Now, meet my bike, Pink. (She doesn’t have a real name, but she does have pink handlebars!).  It’s a Giant.

Oh, and she has two wheels! 🙂 I have to dismantle Pink to get her in the car.

Meghann and I met up after work at a local paved trail called Cady Way Trail.  The main segment is about 3.5 miles long, which is a perfect quickie bike ride distance.

 

We did about 7.0 miles at a quick but not laborious pace.   We talked most of the ride.  It was fun!  But it was COLD (by Florida standards) — I had on 3 shirts and gloves!  It wouldn’t have been so bad, but the sun went down and it got quite chilly out.  I can’t wait for daylight savings time.

Oh, and I wore my Road ID and felt very safe.  🙂

 

Challenge Announcement… Part 1

 

I came home and checked my mail… look what I received!

YAY I received the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred.  Which means I can announce my latest personal challenge.  There are actually TWO parts to this challenge.  But, I’ll announce Part 2 of the challenge tomorrow AM.

 

Can you tell I’m freaking out because Gasparilla (Race Recap Part 1 and Part 2) is over with?!   🙂

 

I need to balance my cardio workouts with some strength training; I usually neglect it!  Since I’m obsessed with The Biggest Loser, have a women-crush on Jillian, and hate going to the gym…. I thought the 30 Day Shred would be the perfect solution!

 

I pledge to do the 30 Day Shred challenge in the morning, every morning!  It’s ONLY 20 minutes — I know I can make time for that.

For dinner, I had baked BBQ chicken, green beans, and 1/2 sweet potato.

    This 20 min workout is great! You will totally feel it the first few times, trust me!

    Yay! You just inspired me to go back to that dvd. I did it and loved it but my knee prevented me from completing it. I actually went to the doctor for xrays today and got a brace like yours and am SO happy to be exercising again! I think I’m going to steal your challenge idea and start every day of this month with the 30 Day Shred! Can’t wait to see what you think about it!

    I just did that DVD like 10 minutes ago. It’s hard! I definitely broke a sweat at level 1.

    I think you’ll be impressed with the 20 min shred!

    I use it as my ‘can’t make it to the gym’ workout!

    When I first got it, I used it religiously… like you I thought “its only 20 mins” so I did it each morning. By the end of the 30 days, I lost a couple of inches! Be sure to take yours before you start… its fun to compare! 🙂

    Hey! So I got this dvd last month and did it for a week straight (Level 1 w/8lb weights) and could definitely tell in just a week. But, then I left it when I went home to Savannah and only got it back yesterday from my mom. I'll vow to do it everyday for 30 days with you!!! I definitely missed out on C&C Yoga challenge so how about this? 🙂

    I have an appointment with a personal trainer on Monday to really get my butt in gear. So, I won’t do the shread, but I’ll do my own challenge with strength training with you!

    yes! i have the shred and when i used it i loved it, but then stopped. I am going to be away lots of weekends this month but i promise to do this with you monday through friday and to do it in the AM so its out of the way! getting strength training into my schedule is always hard for me and i always skimp. i also want to use my time in the gym to run because im’ training for a few runs coming up and having this strength will help me too! jillian rocks, i have a girl crush on her too 🙂 cant wait to see what part 2 is!

    I’ll join the challenge! 😀 I actually have done it twice – I was sooooo sore after the first time that I had to literally take a day off – I had trouble walking, lol!!!

    oh and for anyone who’s on the fence about ordering – you can look it up on youtube!! 😀 It’s a little grainy but you can at least get the jist! 😀

    I hope you like the shred! I’ve done it a few time now so I put on other music to make it more fun now. I like it because I seriously neglect strength training and this gets it done… fast.

    I LOVE the 30 day shred and have actually been doing it for the past couple of months. I also bought Jillian’s book. The workouts in the book are more involved, but they are hardcore and make you feel like a badass! I can’t wait to hear what you think of the shred dvd.

    I’ve been doing the Shred for a little while now, but not every single day. I’d love to join you in your challenge (but I might need to take weekends off and just double up on the other days). It’s fun and challenging! Level 3 still kicks my butt.
