Level 3 is a Killer!

Also, if you read this blog when it was See Bride Run, you know that I’m obsessed with all things wedding.  Let’s help a fellow bride-to-be blogger out — Victoria and her husband-to-be Todd need our help winning $2,000 in wedding services from some great local vendors including the Ritz and a local stationary and wedding planning companySimply go to this this link and vote for Victoria and Todd!  Thanks, everyone!

Moving on…. I woke up this morning and felt determined to make the most of my morning.  When I first wake up, I’m in a bit of a stupor and tend to waste time staring at the computer (or the coffee pot).  I made a real effort to focus on everything I had to get done and found myself being much more productive!

I also did Level 3 of the 30 Day Shred.  Level 3 is SOOOO much harder than Level 1 or Level 2.  I was literally SWEATING all over my yoga mat by the middle of the 2nd Circuit.  Nutso!  I looked like I had just sprinted a 5K.  Although I cannot do most of the squat- or lunge-based exercises fully, so many of the moves are creative verisons of a plank and they KILL my arms and arms.  Work it out, Jillian!

Breakfast was one of my favs:

CIMG3166

WW (whole wheat) pancakes with a sliced banana and real maple syrup for dipping.

CIMG3169

MMMM!

And… I’m OFF! Have a great day!

  • Erica March 24, 2009, 4:20 am

I realize how lame my breakfasts are when I see yours 😉 Glad the workout kicked your little booty. Keep up the good work!

I love how you eat pancakes on a week day… I always ate them on weekends, but I’m realizing that’s dumb! 🙂
Glad to hear Jillian has made a sweat-worthy video. I’m tempted to check this one out after hearing about it all over the blog world.
    Have a great, productive day!

Awesome job with the Shred! Not too much longer until it is finished!! Your banana pancakes always look so tasty! I am definitely craving pancakes for breakfast now 🙂

  • livelovelaugheatlearn March 24, 2009, 4:41 am

It’s so great that you’ve kept up with the Shred this whole month! I’m looking forward to a recap when it’s all over with!!!

    Breakfast looks delish as ususal!

OMG!! I did level 3 last night and it was crazy hard! I had trouble with some of the lunges/squats too and the rock stars (?). But when I got done I was so high on endorphines I went and did each moves from the previous 2 levels once (you know how most moves are done twice/circut? I just did them once). Yeah, 40 minutes of Jillian! I then did 10 minutes of relaxation yoga and am barely sore today.

  • Bec March 24, 2009, 5:10 am

    I love your pancake breakfasts!

  • VeggieGirl March 24, 2009, 5:11 am

Don’t die after level 3, girl!! Hang in there!!

HELL YES FOR YOUR TO-DIE-FOR PANCAKE BREAKFAST!!!!

  • therunningaddict March 24, 2009, 5:20 am

Jillian is amazing, and yes, Level 3 is so much harder! I was dying with all those alternatives to lunges!!

  • Elina March 24, 2009, 5:22 am

Oh man, I’m seriously scared of level 3. Level 2 kicked my butt yesterday so I can’t even imagine what I’ll do when I get to 3…

  • Kristie Lynn March 24, 2009, 5:28 am

Wait… is it Victoria and Wade or Victoria and Todd? Because the picture on her blog matches the Victoria and Todd story….

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point March 24, 2009, 5:32 am

kristie – its victoria and todd, sorry!

  • sloank March 24, 2009, 5:32 am

Ok I kind of loved level 3!! Today was my first day too and I really did not mind it! Granted, it was HARD and I was screaming “I hate you, Jillian!” But I thought her moves were very creative!! And I was proud of myself for getting that far!

  • Brandi March 24, 2009, 5:35 am

Sounds like a great workout this morning!

I wish I had time to make pancakes during the week! I always want them when I see yours.

  • Mica March 24, 2009, 5:38 am

Voting completed, I’m glad to help!

Caitlin, I might have to hire you as my wedding planner if I ever get married. You are so organized and on-top of things. 🙂 (Then I’ll ask Maggie and James to be the ring bearer and flower girl.)

  • seesaraheat March 24, 2009, 5:42 am

Hey Caitlin! I was just wondering what kind/brand of real maple syrup you use? I’m looking to buy some but I wasn’t sure which one to get and since it costs so much more than the fake stuff I want to make sure I get a good one. Thanks 😉

  • Betsy March 24, 2009, 5:55 am

I broke down and ordered the Shred… but you’re scaring me… I hope I can be as good about it as you!

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point March 24, 2009, 5:56 am

  • Matt March 24, 2009, 6:03 am

  • redheadyellowdog March 24, 2009, 6:09 am

Man I need to get on the shred band wagon!!!

Also – I love that you yell at Jillian when she’s being a crazer!

  • Mara @ What's For Dinner? March 24, 2009, 6:14 am

GREAT looking pancakes, and how cool that you’re helping people win wedding services 🙂 Awesome!

  • Meg March 24, 2009, 6:16 am

    Now I am craving pancakes.

  • ksgoodeats March 24, 2009, 6:48 am

Yay pancakes!! Way to go on the shred – Jillian sounds intense!

  • sarah March 24, 2009, 6:50 am

The worst part of Level 3 for me are the traveling planks doubled with the weights and planks. So challenging! At least we know that we’re getting a good workout ; )

  • Dori March 24, 2009, 7:10 am

I did level 2 today with my boyfriend and I believe I am finally ready for it! We were both dripping with sweat by the end but it was a great workout. It will be a while before I make it to 3, but I want to sit and watch it because I am so curious about what’s in it! Good work! Pancakes look great as always.

  • Kelly March 24, 2009, 7:18 am

Level 3?! I didn’t think anyone actually tried to do that level. You’re Wonder Woman! I’m impressed.

Those pancakes always look so good.

  • bitesoflife March 24, 2009, 7:43 am

You are much stronger than me… I’m scared to do level 2 of the Shred. Jillian kinda scares me! 🙂

  • tfh March 24, 2009, 8:11 am

You are so brilliant with making the pancakes look like a huuuuuuge portion size– such a satisfying deception! Nice job getting going this morning.

  • Jess March 24, 2009, 8:19 am

    MMMM breakfast looks yummy!

  • Danica's Daily March 24, 2009, 8:20 am

    Hi Caitlin,

Thanks for the shout out on the contest!

I LOVE Jillian’s shred – great idea on your challenge and I bet you will see amazing results. I belonged to her website for a year and it was awesome getting her weekly workouts. Great job at working through level 3 – you have to feel accomplished now!

Your breakfast made me drool! I want pancakes now.
