Wrapped Casserole

One of my favorite things to do with leftover casseroles is create a wrap! My yummy lunch consisted of a half serving of last night's Red Lentil Casserole, Cesar Dressing, and spinach, all wrapped up in a 100-calorie whole wheat wrap. Holy yum!!! My lunch also included a sliced carrot.... And cheerful cherries... It feels [...]

My OTHER True Love

Oatmeal, how I missed you!!! I took about thirty pictures of this one bowl! I think I was so enamored by my oatmeal that I couldn't stop staring at it (until I realized it was time to actually EAT it). My crazy delicious oatmeal featured a STAR ingredient that we picked up on our tour [...]

I was SO grateful to be back in the kitchen tonight -- even if I was dead tired and running on 3 hours of sleep!    Red Lentil Casserole   This is actually my first experiment with red lentils.  Did you know that lentils are composed of 26% protein -- the third highest level of [...]

FoodBuzz Meet-Up

Before leaving San Francisco, I decided to contact the FoodBuzz offices to see if they were up for a little meet-and-greet (FoodBuzz is like Facebook for foodies, and they are also wonderful blogger sponsers).   Ironically, the FoodBuzz office was only about 0.5-mile from our hotel room! FoodBuzz has 15 employees, and I got to [...]

Honeymoon Recap, Part 5

I'm pretty sad that our honeymoon is coming to an end.  We leave tonight at 10 PM and are taking the red eye back to the East Coast.  It was really amazing to spend so much time with Husband without our normal lives (work and school and dogs) getting in the way!  Getting married to [...]

Honeymoon Recap, Part 4

Exciting News!  I have decided on a NEW blog name and purchased the applicable domain name... but you'll have to wait a few more weeks for the new and improved blog.  I think it's going to be more user-friendly and... of course... there will be a renewed focus on running and races!   Yay!   Back [...]

Honeymoon Recap, Part 3

Hello again! I missed you! :)   Thursday   Thursday wins the award for most random honeymoon day yet.  We started off the day by driving to the Muir Woods to see the giant redwoods.  This is actually on my life's "Bucket List," so I was MORE than a little excited!   The drive to [...]

Honeymoon Recap, Part 2

Our honeymoon continues to be totally fantastic!!  The chilly weather has departed, and we've got tons of sunshine. I started my day with a 4.5 mile run along the Napa River.  Its the longest run I've done in about a week and a half, and it felt SO good to sweat out some of the [...]

Signing Off… For Now!

Well, I truly intended to maintain my blogging through Saturday morning, but obviously I haven't been able to do that at all!  Things have been pretty hectic here since Tuesday when our guests started to arrive.    I got a good 8 hours of sleep last night -- thank goodness!  It's been so nutso here [...]

3... 2... 1 - HAPPY NEW YEAR! About 1/3 of our wedding guests came in early to celebrate New Year's with us, and we had a total blasty! Before we left to meet up with everyone, I ate a filling dinner of mashed potatoes, BBQ chicken, and broc.  I knew I needed to stabilize my [...]
