Getting Frantic

in All Posts

Today was truly the first time I felt like I was running out of time.   I needed to get CRACKING on my to-do list.

Before leaving to run errands, I had a snack. My fav! Yogurt + about 3/4 cup of Grape Nuts.

Then I got my eyebrows waxed, bought some fake eyelashes for myself and my bridal party (have you ever tried those? they are amaaaazing), picked up some necessities at Wal-Mart and the grocery store, and went to the gym.

I did a speedy 30 minutes on the elliptical.  It’s getting to the point where any workout is a good workout!  According to my HRM, I burned about 160 calories, so it was a decent workout.

Then, I organized all my wedding materials, which I’ll be passing off to my day-of-wedding coordinator tomorrow.

Signature Drink signs…

Taxi info for the bar…

Candle Holders…

More candles…

Even MORE candles…

Even MORE candle holders (do you sense a theme?!?!)

Table numbers…

Favors (blurry, I know!)…

Guest books (1 little one per table)…

AND MORE!! (I just realized how I blew the budget, LOL)

I had so much stuff that I knew I needed to organize it in a way that my coordinator could actually make sense out of.  I bought three large tupperware containers and carefully packed my items…

And then I created handy guides to tell my vendors where to put each item (complete with photographs):

Ta-da! If you didn’t know I was a  Type A organizational freakazoid before, you do now!! 🙂

At some point, I took a lunch break while juggling phone calls from my vendors.

I made Anne’s Organic White Cheddar Mac and Cheese.  Delish! It is so tangy and yummy when you replace the milk with NF plain yogurt.

I also had some broccoli on the side.

I ate about 1/2 the box.

Back to work!!

Oh, and in regards to the conversation this morning on Fat Talk, if you haven’t seen this video yet, please watch it and share with your friends and family! I cry every time I watch this video… It is so powerful!

What a whirlwind of a day you are having! At least it’s all in the name of a good cause…your WEDDING! Don’t stress, from the looks of things, you seem to be very well prepared. Type-A personality, my kind of gal 😉

  • Elina December 29, 2008, 2:50 pm

Your wedding is going to be beautiful!!!
Wow woman, that’s some awesome organizational skills!
Btw, budget shmudget, you won’t remember a few hudred (even thousand) dollars at the end of the day, but just how beautiful your wedding day was! I know my parents are still talking about our wedding reception decor even though they originally thought we were wasting our money on nonsense like flowers…

  • ttfn300 December 29, 2008, 2:53 pm

    how exciting!!

love the idea for the yogurt with mac n cheese 🙂

  • Katie December 29, 2008, 2:59 pm

Thanks for sharing that video clip, Caitlin. The statistic about women who would rather get hit by a truck than be “fat” is staggering.

Good luck with the last minute preparations!

  • Halie December 29, 2008, 3:01 pm

I love your organizational skills! You are doing so well!

  • Heather McD (Heather Eats Almond Butter) December 29, 2008, 3:04 pm

Breathe Caitlin. It’s all coming together 🙂

My make-up artist glued individual fake eye-lashes on my eyelids for my wedding. Made a huge difference. Loved them!

    Good luck with everything.

Also, I’ve never tried fake eye lashes, but I should get some. I have sad little stubs.

    Good luck with everything!

all of your pre-wedding posts are making me so STOKED to see pics from the big day!
    very powerful video
    enjoy your night!

  • Kristie Lynn December 29, 2008, 6:34 pm

Wow that video is amazing! I guess what I’ve always wondered is how to get friends to stop using fat talk. I know I can stop myself from using it around friends, but for friends who always use it, telling them that it’s ridiculous and not true (and even giving them real compliments) doesn’t get them to stop. That’s what has always frustrated me 🙁

And ahhh! All your final wedding things are getting me SO EXCITED for my wedding, even though it’s still over 5 months away! 🙂

  • Bridget December 29, 2008, 8:48 pm

I love it! You’re so organized- everything will be great. I’m the same way- if someone else is going to do something for me (that’s important to me), I want to make sure they do it exactly as I planned 🙂

  • Molls December 29, 2008, 10:16 pm

ahhh I love the organization of your wedding stuff… I wouldn’t want anything to go wrong or go out of place on my special day either…

I just bookmarked that youtube video because I found it to be so powerful I am planning on watching it if I ever have an off day!

Wish you luck in the coming days!

  • HangryPants December 30, 2008, 8:51 am

I love this video so much! I posted it when it was Fat Talk Free Week in October and it makes me teary, too! It’s sad that fat talk is so common and acceptable. Now that I am more aware of it, I hear it everywhere!!!!! I don’t think it’s something that occurs as much with men. I think women get something out of being negative about themesleves in front of one another. I am so interested in this topic – thanks for showing the video.

I love all your candles and can’t wait to see how it will all come together on your big day!

  • BOBBI McCORMICK January 1, 2009, 10:34 am
