Good morning!

WOW, I woke up super dehydrated this morning.  My mouth felt like someone had stuffed cotton balls in my cheeks while I was dreaming.  On yesterday’s 23 mile bike ride, I only drank a bottle of water, and then I had 1.5 glasses of pinot noir last night…. which probably explains why my skin feels like the Sahara Desert.   I am chugging water as I type.

I mentioned yesterday that my in-laws have the most well-stocked fridge on this side of the Mississippi…. well, they also have an extensively stocked pantry.  After browsing the shelves for oatmeal toppings, I decided to just put EVERYTHING on top of my oatmeal. 🙂

Low calorie, it was not.  But, WHOA – it was an amazing bowl of oatmeal!

My oatmeal contained:

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 sliced banana
  • Toppings: shredded coconut, 1 Cadbury’s chocolate square, 1/2 a graham cracker, mini marshmallows, a few dried blueberries, and 3 crushed pecans.

And a cup of coffee for energy. 🙂

After my ginormous bowl of oatmel digested, I went on a fun long run.  Not going to lie – my legs were SO SORE after the bike ride, but my in-laws’ house has the absolute best running trail and I wasn’t going to miss it!

(PS – Future Husband ONLY works out twice a week (on the elliptical) and his legs didn’t hurt at all after the bike ride.  How totally unfair is that?!)

My run took me through the woods….

Along the intracoastal….

And by some pretty houses…

(Photos taken yesterday during the bike ride – no, I don’t run with a camera!) 🙂

Here are my statistics:

  • Duration: 47 minutes (5.0 miles)
  • Average Heart Rate: 166 bpm
  • Maximum Heart Rate: 185 bpm
  • Calories Burned: 422

Afterwards, I re-fueled with a Z-Bar. Yum!

We’re off to St. Augustine for the day.  We love St. Augustine SO much because its the town we got ENGAGED at!  Read the super sappy story here: Wedding Details:  Proposal Story.

Have a wonderful day!

You should move in with the future in-laws, if only for the running trails! Great job on your long run!

The oatmeal looks yummy! I don’t know if I could live full-time in a house that well stocked. 🙂 I’d be eating all the time!

I’ve always wanted to go to St. Augustine! I’m such a nerd for historic places and buildings. That could have something to do with where I grew up. 🙂 I hope you have a great time!

It sort of looks like “Smores Oatmeal.” I see chocolate and marshmallows – and I think graham crackers. Now all you need is an open flame 🙂
