USA! USA! USA!

Happy Opening Day of the Olympics! I am SO excited! I am pumped to watch all the track and field events! Future Husband and I are going to watch the Opening Ceremony tonight. He just called to tell me that it cost $40 BILLION and took 7 years to plan–wow!

I usually do long runs on Saturday, but I had today off so I headed to beautiful downtown Orlando and banged out a 10k (6.2 miles).

There is a great running path that goes around Lake Eola, so I did that loop four times. After two loops, I would run to nearby Lake Lawsona and do a loop around that lake (Orlando has a lot of lakes). It’s so motivating when the scenery is beautiful. It almost made up for the fact that it was about 90 degrees.

Here are my statistics:

  • Total time: 1 hr, 11 minutes (including a 5 minute cool down)
  • Average Heart Rate: 183 bpm
  • Maximum Heart Rate: 203 bpm
  • Calories Burned:678

Red, White, and Blue Oatmeal

After my run, I had a HUGE bowl of oatmeal (2/3 cup dry, 1/2 cup milk, 2/3 cup water, 1 small banana, some blueberries and raspberries, and 1/8 cup of Grape Nuts). I felt so patriotic eating it! I thought a lot about the Olympic athletes on my run this AM, and I was totally inspired. GO USA!

It was a BIG bowl, but I burned so many calories on my run, I’m sure I will be starving again soon.

Pre-Run Snack

Before my run, I had a cup of coffee and 1.5 slices of WW bread, 1 tbsp of organic PB, and a small banana. It’s the perfect pre-run combo!

Well, I gotta get moving– I need to check in with the office and then I need to do some wedding research. I’m meeting with a potential florist at 2 PM and hopefully, she’s within our budget! I would love to get the flowers OVER WITH! 🙂
