Nothing like a long run to make me feel human again!
Last night, one glass of wine turned into two glasses… which was one glass of wine too much. Yikes! Anne, the Husband, and I had an absolute blast, but I had a pretty big Malbec-related headache this morning. 🙂
Nothing that waffles + a long run can’t fix!
Pre-run fuel was whole wheat waffle with banana, fruit, sesame almonds, and honey Greek yogurt.
One breakfast digested and we said goodbye to our houseguests, I set out on a 10.0 mile run. I was definitely feeling a little off, but by Mile 2.0 everything seemed to come together.
How’s the weather where you are? It’s absolutely PERFECT pre-Fall day in Charlotte – a balmy and breezy 75 degrees or so. The cool air was exactly what I needed to maintain a great, moderate clip the entire time.
Drank Gatorade throughout the run:
I tried to pick it up the last mile and finished strong!

Can I just say that I love taper weeks in marathon training? :) I also love how much training warps your perception of a “shorter†run. Compared to last week’s 15 miler, today’s was a breeze.
Pre-cooked beets, brown rice and tabbouli, and BBQ baked tofu:
Have a happy holiday weekend (it’s Labor Day tomorrow here in the States!) 🙂
