Nothing like a long run to make me feel human again!
Last night, one glass of wine turned into two glassesβ¦ which was one glass of wine too much. Yikes! Anne, the Husband, and I had an absolute blast, but I had a pretty big Malbec-related headache this morning. π
Nothing that waffles + a long run canβt fix!
Pre-run fuel was whole wheat waffle with banana, fruit, sesame almonds, and honey Greek yogurt.
One breakfast digested and we said goodbye to our houseguests, I set out on a 10.0 mile run. I was definitely feeling a little off, but by Mile 2.0 everything seemed to come together.
Howβs the weather where you are? Itβs absolutely PERFECT pre-Fall day in Charlotte β a balmy and breezy 75 degrees or so. The cool air was exactly what I needed to maintain a great, moderate clip the entire time.
Drank Gatorade throughout the run:
I tried to pick it up the last mile and finished strong!

Can I just say that I love taper weeks in marathon training? :) I also love how much training warps your perception of a βshorterβ run. Compared to last weekβs 15 miler, todayβs was a breeze.
Post-run snack:
And lunch:
Pre-cooked beets, brown rice and tabbouli, and BBQ baked tofu:
Have a happy holiday weekend (itβs Labor Day tomorrow here in the States!) π
Weelll done on the run! That hose-shot of you is amaze!
I did 15miles today – it made my 4 the other day pale in comparison!!
