Flowers photographed during our honeymoon in San Francisco.  πŸ™‚

I wish I could say I woke up feeling my best this morning, but instead, apparently I sleep-talked all night (a sure sign my stomach is bothering me) and woke up with a tummy ache.  Probably due to my food + beverage choices last nightÒ€¦ live and learn.  Or try to.  πŸ™‚

Breakfast was stabilizing:

IMG_4186

I had two eggs, two pieces of toast, and 1/2 an orange.

WhatÒ€ℒs what strange juice, you say?

Oh, wheatgrass.  I had intentionally forgotten about you and your disgusting murkiness.

IMG_4189

It doesnÒ€ℒt taste good, but nothing heals a sore tummy like wheatgrass, in my opinion.  I mix mine with water.

Well, IÒ€ℒm off to help Ryan move her apartment.  I feel like helping someone else move will be exposure therapy and get me warmed up to the idea.  Right?

that link has some info, it basically helps removes the acidity in your body.

  • jen trinque @ recipes for creativity May 1, 2010, 11:21 am

Aw, I hope you feel better after helping Ryan out. It’s fun to let loose sometimes, and I hate waking up feeling like I overdid it. Live and learn and enjoy!

Wheatgrass freaks me out like no other. I gag everytime… what’s the secret?

    • Caitlin May 1, 2010, 11:26 am

just take it like a shot! LOL thats what i do. if i can do shots of alcohol, i can do a shot of something healthy. thats what i figure, anyway.

      healthy living, what.

      • Julie @savvyeats May 1, 2010, 11:42 am

For everyone else who is freaked out by wheatgrass, try it with a strong juice, like POM. It makes a HUGE difference!

  • Diana May 1, 2010, 11:24 am

Never had wheatgrass either. Sounds… yucky :p
Hope you feel better throughout the day, have a good one!

  • Jenny May 1, 2010, 11:35 am

I hope your stomach feels better:)

  • Jessica @ How Sweet It Is May 1, 2010, 11:36 am

I try wheatgrass as a shot, but I always need at like 6 oz of water which I can barely take down before it comes back up! Any idea how much water/wheatgrass you use?

    • Caitlin May 1, 2010, 11:38 am

like 3, i make it dense so there’s less liquid to take in. Also try mixing it with POM juice or apple juice.

      • Julie @savvyeats May 1, 2010, 11:43 am

Definitely try POM! Strong flavor = masks wheatgrass. πŸ™‚

Good luck with the moving! Nothing like some practice, right πŸ˜‰

  • Amber K @ sparkpeople May 1, 2010, 11:39 am

They had wheatgrass samples at my gym the other day, but I couldn’t stand the smell. My husband said it tasted awful, but he said he could do it again if forced. =)

  • Amanda (Amanda "runs") May 1, 2010, 11:41 am

  • Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg May 1, 2010, 11:47 am

Wheatgrass is a definite hangover cure. I mix mine with OJ!

Have fun moving! You’re a good friend!

  • Megan (The Runner's Kitchen) May 1, 2010, 11:57 am

I know wheat grass is good for me, but it always makes me sort of gag, hehe. Eggs and toast are my go-to hangover cure!

Pretty flower shots πŸ™‚ I’ll be happy if those April Showers stay far far away

  • Natalie @ Keep It Sassy May 1, 2010, 12:00 pm

I have a feeling there’s going to be a post on wheatgrass soon! haha I’ve never tried it, but I have heard it has some great benefits. It sounds awful, but it must be worth it, right?

  • Camille May 1, 2010, 12:06 pm

Eek, I hate the morning after feeling where you aren’t even hungover, you just have an unsettled tummy πŸ™
    Hope you feel better!

  • katie May 1, 2010, 12:07 pm

Oooh you’re a good friend. We move crosscountry 3 months from tomorrow and I am dreading it πŸ™ You’ll have to share and tips you discover.

I remember reading about wheatgrass in a Norwegian newspaper, that it was supposed to be huge in the US. This was quite a while ago, and it has yet to become huge here!
Norwegians are not known to be the most experimental, haha!
It is great that you are aware of what boosts your body after a day of fun!
And yeah, practice makes master, so it is a good idea to help her move. Gradually getting used to the act of moving out πŸ™‚
Your flower pictures are so beautiful, I love that aspect of spring, everything comes alive and colourful again.

  • Wei-Wei May 1, 2010, 1:25 pm

Ohh, wheatgrass. D: I hate the stuff, but my mom makes me drink it sometimes for breakfast. I wonder if putting it in Green Monsters will mask the taste? (Actually I don’t think so :P)

The flower pictures are gorgeous! I love love love spring.

    Have a great day! πŸ˜€

  • Diana @ frontyardfoodie May 1, 2010, 1:33 pm

Moving is never easy but it can be quite satisfying. Nothing says ‘friend’ like someone helping you move!!

  • Katie @ Two Lives, One Lifestyle May 1, 2010, 1:36 pm

I never knew wheatgrass was good for the tummy, maybe I should go find some. Blech, running kills my insides.

  • Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter May 1, 2010, 1:49 pm

I’m sorry about your stomach! Thats definitely not fun. Hopefully you will feel better after that wheatgrass shot and doing something to keep you occupied.

  • steph-exercise physiologist and artist! May 1, 2010, 4:44 pm

i have never heard of wheatgrass being good for a sore tummy. It makes a lot of sense though since it is so great for the body in general.
But yes I agree the taste makes it easy to push out of your mind!
I have never mixed it with water but I am sure that has to help the taste a bit.
    Hope you are feeling better.

  • Run Sarah May 1, 2010, 5:01 pm

I’m curious to try wheatgrass – sorry to hear about your sore stomach!

  • Marissa May 1, 2010, 6:07 pm

    Hope you feel better!!!

Beautiful flowers! I had an awesome little garden at our old house and I’ve spent all weekend trying to get the one at the new house up to par. It’s a lot more work since it’s about 5 times the size. πŸ˜• But, I LOVE seeing the flowers bloom.

  • Susan May 3, 2010, 6:40 am

I took a shot of wheatgrass before.

I think I prefer the taste of tequila πŸ˜›
