My exercise for today included a 2.0 mile walk with the puppies and the Husband, as well as a lovely 5K run along the intracoastal waterway.
This trail is actually one of my favorite paths in the entire world. I love looking at the water, running through the sawgrass forest, and checking out the lovely homes.
I finished the 5K in 30:34, averaging a little slower than my normal pace because it was super hot out – which inspired a post for tomorrow called Running in Hot Weather (stay tuned!). I took an untimed break underneath a tree because it was absolutely sweltering out. Itâ€™s definitely SUMMER in Florida!
When I came home, I jumped in the pool. It felt SO good and cold against my hot, hot skin! This is the single reason why I want a poolâ€¦ I would back-flip in after every workout!
Before my run, I had a bowl of strawberries.
After my run, my mother-in-law (who is British like the Husband) served up afternoon tea and scones.
I had a cinnamon raisin scone with buttah.
And two chocolate cookies (the chocolate melts in the tea and tastes sooo delicious). The Europeans do it RIGHT.
Tonight was the Husbandâ€™s REAL birthday dinner (doesnâ€™t it seem like his birthday has been stretching on for days!). My mother-in-law made a veggie Thai coconut curry with white rice.
I also had a glass of red wine.
And dessert was mint ice cream. The Husband opted for leftover chocolate cake, but I just love mint ice cream!
