Pushed Back

in All Posts

Around 4 PM, I was suddenly struck with this overwhelming desire to go back to sleep.  The urge was so strong, it was almost crushing.  I couldn’t think about anything but laying down.  So… I did.

I left work and was in bed by 5 PM.  James and I spooned and had fun with the new camera.   I guess James was tired, too — look at that yawn!  And those chompers.

Post-camera fun, I crashed. Hard.  Do you think my body was trying to tell me something (like, "I need a break; you crazy woman!") ? I slept for two hours and was woken up by the Husband for dinner.

He made veggie pizza and sweet potato fries.

Other snacks of the afternoon included (I was eating to prepare for a 6 mile run, which obviously didn’t happen.  Oh well!  More food to enjoy):

On a completely non-food related note, guess what came in the  mail today?  That’s right, our University of Miami season tickets!  Very exciting.  The Husband nearly cried.

And today’s Organization Week task is going to get pushed back.  The utility closet is way too large of a mountain to climb in my tired state.

But, here’s a photo to shame me into doing it tomorrow:

Yea.  That’s scary.  Isn’t it?  I’m scurred just looking at the picture.

Sometimes there is nothing better than an afternoon nap!

I should show you a photo of my laundry room, it would make you feel heaps better about yours!

Is that a GRILL on top of your washing machine??? LOL!! I love you for it.

  • Anonymous August 19, 2009, 5:10 pm

lol, that closet is hilarious but doesn't actually look that bad in terms of clutter – its just funny that you store your golf clubs and grill on top of the washer/dryer

Glad you got in a good nap! I'm kind of jealous, I have NEVER been able to nap no matter how tired I am. It's kind of frustrating.

The grill on top of the washer/dryer just made my day! Haha!

yay for naps! glad you took a break today and rested.

I am SO excited for football season! we can't afford the season tickets here, but I'm sure we'll have some awesome ACC banter back and forth come September 🙂

I'll cheer for ANY ACC team against any other conference, but I'm a Hokie through and through.

I hope the ACC does awesome this year!

It's so important to listen to your body and clearly you needed the rest! I actually felt incredibly tired around 4pm too, but I managed to get a 2nd wind.

  • Sarah August 19, 2009, 6:33 pm

  • Sara August 19, 2009, 7:43 pm

I had the same overwhelming nap urge today! Hits ya like a ton of bricks, doesn't it? Sometimes you can plow through it, but I was already horizontal, so it was a lost cause. 6-7 p.m.: in dreamland! :-O

  • Angie (Losing It and Loving It) August 19, 2009, 7:43 pm

good for you for listening to your body and giving it what it wanted! sometimes it's hard to do that, especially when we don't understand WHY our bodies are demanding things of us.

  • Stephanie August 20, 2009, 6:40 am

It's nice to see that other peoples places look like mine and that I am not just dirty 🙂 I can't wait for some extra time to organize, too!! 🙂

  • Ali August 20, 2009, 11:39 am

Ahhhh! I could use a nap right now, but I am at work. Nothing like napping in the middle of the day with a cuddly dog!
