Crunch Time

in All Posts

It is crunch time for me, both literally and figuratively.

It’s figuratively crunch time because I have a VERY busy week planned.  It’s the final push for the Healthy Living Summit planning, I have a bunch of huge projects at work, and I’m going on vacation next week (to Powell, Tennessee and Boston).  Yay!  Very exciting, but lots to do.

It’s literally crunch time because I did a great mini-strength training workout this morning.  I’m so glad I switched over my all-or-nothing attitude from thinking strength training didn’t "count" unless I was putting in 30 minutes at the gym.  I feel like I actually do more training now that I’m satisified with mini-sets.

I did:

  • 100 bicycle crunches
  • 30 push-ups
  • 10 bench presses using Maggie as a weight.

Perfect for bench pressing:

Too big and squirmy for bench pressing:

Cheesey face.

Breakfast was simple and delish.  The star was this cereal:

Which I had with skim milk and a sliced banana:

Good luck getting everything done! I find when I'm crunched for time, and have something excited to look forward to I'm even more efficient! Have a great day.

Mmm… pumpkin raisin sounds like a delish cereal. Must add it to my shopping list!

A quickie workout is definitely better than no workout. I followed your example on Saturday and did a mini-strength routine at home 🙂 I love Nature's Path cereals – mmm, pumpkin flax!

Ha, I love James' expression. He looks quite content NOT to be used for a weight routine.

I can't believe Maggie lets you use her as a weight! My dog would be squirming the entire time, haha!

Ha! do you really bench press her? You should make a video!

Mmmm I had the same cereal for breakfast myself! I've been disappointed with the amount of pumpkin seeds though… maybe the last bowl will be crazy full of seedy goodness?
