Good morning! Sorry that I bailed on blogging last night –  my meals weren’t very exciting, and I just need a break from the computer.  The Husband and I went to see Bruno, which was a very funny but VERY raunchy movie.  Not for the faint of heart!  But I laughed until my stomach hurt several times.  🙂

I went on a fabulous 2.4 mile run this morning.  I’m so excited because this run marks the first time I’ve done more than 10 miles/week since April (I actually did 11.4!) AND it’s the first time I’ve run 4 times/week.  Caitlin’s getting her groove back!

Question:  Where do you keep your keys when you workout outdoors?  I’ve begun to attach mine to my RoadID necklace and tuck them into my sports bra.  It’s so much more convenient than tying them to my shoelaces!

(The quote inscribed on my RoadID is: "The miracle isn’t that I finished… The miracle is that I had the courage to start." My emergency contact information is on the other side).

Before I left for my run, I had a slice of bread with PB and a coffee:

And after my run, I made a delicious shake using a fun new ingredient:

I was really excited to try the new Nasoya Silken creations, which are a soy-based "non-dairy starter for smoothies and desserts."  Here’s the nutrition info.

My smoothie also contained 1 cup of unsweet almond milk and two scoops of Amazing Grass:

Mmmm! Green power!

The Husband and I are going to the farmer’s market to put some of the lessons we learned from Food Inc into action, and then I’m going to a fun blogger/reader meet-up for lunch!  There’s going to be 11 ladies there, so I’m pretty excited to see everyone (or meet them for the first time)!

Have a great day!

I keep my house key and my cell phone in a iFitness Mini Sports Belt. It is pretty comfy and does not bounce around at all. You can check out the web-site for details: http://www.ifitness.com
    Enjoy your blogger lunch.

I usually hold onto them or I clip my keychain onto my sports bra and tuck the keys into my shirt so they don't bounce around.

    Have fun!

Have fun at your bloggie lunch! I have been begging Jason to take me to see that movie, so hopefully he will get the hint 🙂 I keep my keys in this tiny pocket I have on the inside of my shorts, but the necklace is a good idea! Mmmm, missing me some Green Monsters 🙁

  • Island Girl Eats July 12, 2009, 6:37 am

Morning! If it's a long run, I put my key in my fuel belt pouch at the front. If it is a short run, I put it in the pocket of my running shorts. For some reason, it drives me crazy if I have to carry them in my hands!!

  • Kathy (Moving Beyond Perfection) July 12, 2009, 6:38 am

Some of my sports bras and shorts have mini pockets on the inside, and I usually put my key there. I've found a small pocket so helpful, but your road ID idea seems great too!

  • inmytummy July 12, 2009, 6:47 am

If my shorts don't have a pocket, I put my key in my bra. It works; I've never lost it.

That tofu is good. I had the chocolate one and ended up eating it straight out of the container. Tastes like pudding.

  • MrsCJ July 12, 2009, 6:53 am

Our Mercury Mariner has keyless entry so I can lock the keys in it and not carry them.

At many running stores, you can find these little pouches that you can slip up your arm – I put my keys, cell phone, and ID (since I don't have a roadID yet) in it. Depending on what you place in it, you will forget that it's attached to you!

Hey girl! I live in Pittsburgh, so you're lucky you got to see Food, Inc.! I can't find it ANYWHERE! 🙁

    congrats on your week's mileage!

I always wondered where runners kept keys…

  • HangryPants July 12, 2009, 7:32 am

In my bra … like everything else.

I need to get back in my running grove this week.

I saw Bruno last night too! I found myself cringing and laughing at the same time about 3/4 of the movie!
Honestly, when I work out at home, the fiance is at home, so I don't bring my keys!

  • teacherwoman July 12, 2009, 8:30 am

I don't carry any keys. I have a keyless entry into the garage, using the number pad…

    Have a great Sunday!

The RoadID is a really good idea. I love the quote too!

  • Hi! I'm Erin July 12, 2009, 8:50 am

On short runs where I stay in my neighborhood, I don't carry keys. Usually my husband is home or I just leave our patio door unlocked.

On long runs where I have to drive to the start, I put my car's remote in either the pocket in my shorts or in my fuel belt. I try not to buy pants or shorts without pockets for this very reason.

  • kArLy July 12, 2009, 9:17 am

When I run I use a Lululemon key cuff. (http://www.lululemon.com/products/accessories/wear/key_cuff) It just a piece of fabric you wear on your wrist and it folds over and has a pocket inside it. Works perfect!

  • Erica July 12, 2009, 9:18 am

Ow! Have fun at the meet up! Sounds like a blasty. I have one of those key pads on my garage and am very grateful for it! I use to run with my key double knoted into my shoes.

  • Niki July 12, 2009, 9:27 am

Your bloggy meet up sounds fun! Oh how I wish I lived in Florida so I could me ya'll! I usually tie my key to my shoelace or stick it in my sports bra.

  • BethAnn Caputo July 12, 2009, 10:39 am

I run with my dog usually so I clip it to his collar or I just hold them in my hands depending on where I'm running. If i'm running near my apartment I will leave them hidden in the back yard.

  • Leah July 12, 2009, 11:03 am

My running shorts have a little pocket on the inside for my keys! Otherwise, I tuck it in my iPod arm band!

  • THE ACTORS DIET July 12, 2009, 11:07 am

i don't run outdoors – just hike – so obviously i can carry a ginormous backpack (which i do). but don't they make cool sneakers for this?

  • MarathonVal July 12, 2009, 11:12 am

I actually love to put my key on my shoelaces! I think it's so convenient and it doesnt rattle against me when I run 🙂

  • Mel @ She Runs Brooklyn July 12, 2009, 12:07 pm

I hide them under the doormat.. not the best system, huh?

  • Anita July 12, 2009, 3:32 pm

I have to carry so much stuff with me when I run that I just gave up and started using a fanny-pack. Ugh. But I definitely don't want to get caught without my Epipen (bees!), inhaler, car keys, cell phone,or iPod! I don't think I carried this much junk in my kids' diaper bags, fer cryin' out loud! LOL!

  • Amanda July 12, 2009, 7:28 pm

Hi! To answer your question about the keys, I have my truck key on a carabiner like you do and clip the 'biner around the first two or three lines of my shoe laces. Then I just tuck the key under the lower laces so it won't bounce. I used to tie the key on my laces but that was a pain. This is very quick and easy 🙂

  • Raya July 13, 2009, 9:19 am

Oh My Gosh I just saw Bruno yesterday and I was shocked!! I thought it was pretty funny, I just wasn't expecting so much "porno" lol.

  • Raya July 13, 2009, 9:20 am

Oh yeah and I usually leave my door unlocked when I run. **stalkers beware** lol
