Can I go back to sleep?


It’s been a nutty day at work — actually, it’s been a nutty few weeks.  But I finally finished a HUGE project and the chances that I’ll get to take that vacation at the end of the week are looking BRIGHT!


Have you noticed that you are hungrier when you’re running on less sleep?  I chowed down on a Wasa cracker with hummus around 9:30.


And for lunch, I made a healthy pizza:


The pizza was really a Flat Out wrap with pasta sauce, cheese, zucchini, onion, and green pepper.  So GOOD!


Plus, carrots:


And dates for "dessert."

    And I couldn't agree with you more about being hungrier on less sleep. I HATE that!

    Glad the huge project is over and that you have a vacation on the horizon!

    Such a cute pic of the puppers! Yes, I always feel much more hungry when I'm tired (like today!). Congrats on finishing up the project and I am keeping my fingers crossed that you get to take some time off. Love flat out pizzas- totally delicious 🙂 Keep pushing through the day!

    I'm definitely hungrier w/ less sleep. I've read about and it can be linked to the way your body regulates hormones when it's tired (sorry I can't be more scientific about it!).

    I'm also SO much hungrier after a big run.

    haha I've always said I wish Paula Dean was my crazy Aunt!! I would love visiting her!

    she was on wait wait don't tell me one week and it was HILARIOUS!!! she was quizzed about tofu. I highly suggest looking up that show!

    I think the hunger hormones grehlin and leptin increase when you are running on less sleep, so it makes sense that you are hungrier! I also love Paula Deen – I'm a pretty healthy eater, but her butter-rich recipes always look SO good 🙂

    I find that I am usually hungrier too! I think it has something to do with lepitn levels being thrown off?

    My hunger totally spirals out of control when I am sleep deprived. I think they actually have some kind of research that says it throws off the hunger signals in your body or something.

    That pizza looks amazing! I want pizza for lunch now…

    My hunger cues are definitely thrown off when I'm running on less sleep…it's a balance thing I guess.

    i love flat out pizzas! great lunch, and I do eat more when I'm stressed or working super hard.

    Have you ever read Paula Dean's magazine? You might like it since you enjoy her show.
    I find if I stay up late I am always looking for a late night snack whereas if I just went to bed at my usual time I wouldn't be any hungrier in the morning than normal

    i always eat WAY more when i am tired. i think subconsciously i think the fuel will fuel me but really it just makes me more tired hahaha

    It actually makes sense scientifically that you are more hungry on the days you get less sleep. Inadequate sleep results in lower levels of leptin, which is the chemical responsible for suppressing appetite. Not to mention that if you're awake for longer hours, you have more hours during the day to become hungry. Less sleep is actually associated with higher rates of obesity on average. So- in sum, sleep is good! 🙂

    I like topping an english muffin with a laughing cow cheese wedge and pasta sauce, then popping it in the toaster oven for a couple minutes! It tastes so good! But pizza on a flat out wrap looks awesome as well! 🙂

    I am always hungrier when i don't sleep well! And I already eat a lot so it's definitely important that I get my sleep, lol!

    LOVE those flat out wraps- i like to brush mine with EVOO and sprinkle with kosher salt and bake it to make pita chips for dipping in my carrot soup or split pea soup- or hummus or anything! the pizza looks AWESOMEEEEEE…. and dates are right down my alley too— knowing like cutting open a date and sticking in some PB or AB- divineeee

    BTW – can you believe I can't find flat out wraps anywhere?! My grocery store around the corner doesn't carry them, and the only other place I food shop is at Whole Foods. Grrr!

    Therefore.. I rarely eat wraps 🙁
    BUT if I had them, I'd hit up your pizza asap 🙂
