Grandpa’s 92nd Birthday

Bowling and Beers was tons of fun, but I’m not going to lie, but I’ve felt better! 🙂 Of course, I’ve also felt worse after a night out…. it’s all relative!

Breakfast was super-stabilizing:

The star was some Amazing Grass Wheatgrass. I think my body needs it today!

Plus, Chobani + crushed Kashi TLC bar + banana:

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!

Today is my Grandpa’s 92nd birthday. He was born in 1917! In 1917:

It was World War I
Woodrow Wilson was President of the US
Microwaves didn’t exist!
The Russian Revolution to overthrow Tsar Nicholas begins (remember the evil Rasputin?)
A new home cost $5,520
The population of the US was just 103,268,000 people. The current population is 304,059,724.

Happy Bday to your Grandpa. My Grandpa is 95 and in great health. He even went golfing last week. I really hope he makes it to 100 so we can have a big party.

My oldest living relative is one of my great-uncles, who is 97.

Dang he's old! I don't have many old relatives like that. My great grandma lived to be 101 though!

My grandmother passed away almost 3 years ago now, but she was born in 1917. She used to talk about how a gallon of milk was unheard of, and remembered the ice trucks bringing blocks of ice for the icebox! The cookies look fab 🙂 Oh, my current oldest living relative? Does my soon to be grandmother-in-law count at 83?

Hi, Caitlin. I've been curious because you never mention it in your "drogging" posts 😉 but when you go out in Orlando, how do you handle transportation? Do you usually have a DD, or stop drinking early, or are the bars within walking distance of your place? Of course I understand if you feel it's too invasive a question, but I couldn't help wondering, so just thought I'd ask!

I think my mom has some older aunts in their 90s. My grandmother is 81 this year.

I actually just celebrated my uncle's 94th bday last night! That's a whole lot of years, isn't it? It's amazing bc we could potentially have so much time to live out our dreams, but it also flies by so we have to make the most of it!

starlucia – sometimes we cab it and sometimes we have designated drivers. last night we had a designated driver. we are big into not drunk driving. its a really bad habit!

My great grandma is 100 … people are amazed when my 82 year old grandma (who is a great grandmother herself) tells people that her mom is still alive!!!

What neat trivia from 1917! I've lost most of my oldest relatives recently so I think my oldest living is my grandmother who is a very young 76 🙂
