Tiger!

I’m definitely on a baked tofu streak.  It’s just so delicious!

CIMG4856

I buy a brand of tofu that comes pre-chopped, and if you bake the little squares, there’s no need to drain it.  Which makes it so much less time-intensive!

Plus, boiled corn on the cob and steamed broc:

And brown rice:

And a date for dessert:

Did anyone else see how Abbie created Raw Snickers with a date?  SO GOOD.  I want some! I really cannot believe I went 24 years without dates in my life.

Weekend Plans

I am SO ready for the weekend.  We are going to Palm Coast, Florida to celebrate the Husband’s 25th Birthday!

CIMG1479

And on Sunday, we’re going to the Players’ Championship at Sawgrass!

CIMG4825

I am SO excited to see Tiger Woods in real life!  We went to TPC last year, but Tiger was injured so we missed him.

(I’ll be blogging my weekend adventures per usual).

So, I’m really looking forward to the weekend…. but first I need to get through a 25-mile long bike ride tonight. 🙁 My arse is begging for mercy (I need padded bike shorts!).

I love baked tofu. What brand do you use? I would love to not have to drain it.

How cool to get a chance to see Tiger!

  • janetha May 7, 2009, 9:15 am

i have never tried a date either! maybe i will have to, i saw abbie’s post and those raw snickers look good. also your PB french toast from earlier looked fantastic!

I have been meaning to try your “perfect baked tofu” recipe for some time now. Next week, for sure! One of my favorite ways to prepare tofu is covered with sesame seeds and baked until golden brown and crispy, yum.

  • Jess May 7, 2009, 9:20 am

What brand of tofu comes all nicely chopped like that?? Thats a great idea!

  • Nicole (anotheronebitesthecrust.wordpress.com) May 7, 2009, 9:20 am

    I love the pre-cubed tofu! It’s so simple 🙂

  • Jennifer May 7, 2009, 9:20 am

What brand is the tofu? I haven’t found any that is precut, but my grocery store only carries a few brands I think. I have never tried a date either, I am sort of scared. Tiger Woods comes here almost every year I believe for the PGA tour. I think that is what it is called, but I have never been!

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point May 7, 2009, 9:21 am

all – the tofu is NASOYA.

  • FoodsThatFit May 7, 2009, 9:28 am

Dates!!!! Oh how I love them 🙂 Thanks for the shout out Caitlin!! Have so much fun on your bike ride tonight! I am sure you are having gorgeous weather down there since it’s raining buckets here!! Miss you tons.

  • Bec May 7, 2009, 9:35 am

You don`t have padded shorts yet!!! You need to get some asap, it will make a huge difference!

  • Betsy May 7, 2009, 9:48 am

“My arse is begging for mercy”… I’m kind of shocked you didn’t add a ‘that’s what she said’ on the end of that. Too much? Haha

  • K from ksgoodeats May 7, 2009, 9:56 am

I haven’t had tofu in a while – your lunch is making me crave it!

Your weekend sounds like it will be fun!!

  • Sarah (lovINmytummy) May 7, 2009, 10:02 am

I dare you to pad your shorts with Charmin 😉

  • e. May 7, 2009, 10:05 am

See if there is a pearl izumi outlet near you … their tri shorts have a little chamois and are still comfortable enough to run in!!

  • Life Coach Jen May 7, 2009, 10:17 am

I’ve been to the Palm Coast! But it was off-season and there wasn’t much to do! Have fun!

  • RhodeyGirl/Sabrina May 7, 2009, 10:23 am

I think we have very similar eating styles. that right there is my idea of a perfect meal. brown rice + tons of veg + a protein.

  • Matt May 7, 2009, 10:25 am

Sounds like a fun weekend coming up!

  • Brandi May 7, 2009, 10:26 am

    the weekend sounds fun!

DEFINITELY get padded bike shorts – they help SO much

  • HangryPants May 7, 2009, 10:42 am

I used to drain the tofu block, but now I don’t even bother.

My sister is obsessed with Tiger Woods and names 1 or her 3 cats after him (http://www.hangrypants.com/2008/10/she-says-meet-tiger-woods/) – old posts are so strange sometimes!

  • Danielle May 7, 2009, 10:44 am

I have never had prepared tofu at home for myself because I never was sure what to do to drain it.
    You’re looks delicious!

  • Missy May 7, 2009, 10:48 am

Your tofu looks so good! I need to start buying it! Same with dates!

  • Christy May 7, 2009, 11:05 am

Padded bike shorts in addition to a padded gel seat will make those long rides so much more enjoyable. Gotta get em!!

  • Runeatrepeat May 7, 2009, 11:14 am

I go through streaks where I eat the same thing all the time and love it!

  • Tami May 7, 2009, 11:40 am

you SO need padded shorts, they will make a huge difference!

  • Sanja May 7, 2009, 11:50 am

Consider buying a bibshort; it looks ri-di-cu-lous, but it is SO SO SO comfortable!

  • Lindsay @ Foodrun May 7, 2009, 11:51 am

25 miles?! good luck! oh the bike butt pain…

  • Melissa @ For the Love of Health May 7, 2009, 11:53 am

  • Hi! I'm Erin May 7, 2009, 12:38 pm

I just had a date for the first time in my life earlier this week. My husband bought them. They are SOOOO good. Except then I ate way too many in too short a period of time and my tummy got a little angry at me. Oops!

  • Lauren @ Team Giles May 7, 2009, 12:56 pm

I had some baked tofu the other day at a restaurant and I loved it!

I’m thinking of making some at home. Little nervous though, never made tofu before??

  • Ali May 7, 2009, 2:59 pm

We have the Buick Open every year pretty close to where I live and because Tiger is sponsored by them, he usually shows up. I had to stand on top of one of the Buicks they had out to get a good look at him. That’s how many people there were following him!

  • Mo May 7, 2009, 3:41 pm

I LOVE tofu as well. We don’t have the pre-cubed kind around here at all. Lucky you. Have a super bike ride!

  • Niki May 7, 2009, 3:48 pm

I have been wanting to try to bake some tofu so I may have to use your recipe! Good luck on your bike ride tonight!!

  • Carolina John May 7, 2009, 4:46 pm

you’re going to enjoy hanging with tiger. we saw him at the masters this year, and he’s in fine form.

  • Lauren May 7, 2009, 6:15 pm

Nothing wrong with eating tofu continuously. It’s so versitile you could probably consume it 1000 different ways.
I think a new favorite baked tofu of mine would have to be coconut encrusted. You should give this a try.

Sounds like such a fun weekend. Hope you and your man have a fantastic time.

  • Fitnessista May 7, 2009, 8:54 pm
