Good afternoon!  The Husband, our friend Harry, and I put ourselves to work this afternoon as a Mother’s Day gift for my mother-in-law.

I think beer is a required tool for Do It Yourself projects!

After some tile-laying, I made everyone lunch.  I wasn’t in the mood for a sammie so I had an egg, toast, two veggie “sausage” links, and two carrots.

CIMG4943

It was good, but not enough green! 🙂

Next, I decided to tidy up my mother-in-law’s garden as my gift to her.  My first task was mowing the grass with a little push mower.  This was serious physical labor!

CIMG4957

Mowing is my cardio!

My second task was raking all the grass and gravel.  This was a great upper-body workout and my arms were so sore!

CIMG4959

In total, gardening took me about 45 minutes.  I was sweating buckets by the end.  I think gardening + that 1.0 mile walk this morning is enough exercise for the day!

After our chores were done, I made everyone Guinness Floats.

CIMG4950

Mine had about 1/2 cup of mint chocolate chip ice cream and 1/2 a Guinness.  Oh my goodness!

I’m jumping in the pool ASAP!  Other tasks on the agenda include: fishing, a BBQ, and probably a few more cocktails.  🙂

I live for the weekend!

A Guinness Float? That sounds so delicious, even though I’m not a huge Guinness fan…I may have to try those!

This morning I pulled up pansy flowers (fall and winter flowers) and planted some impatiens (summer flowers). Seeing your post made me remember that yard-work can be just as intensive as working out at the gym. My arms and back are staring to feel it.

You look so adorkable [heh] mowing the lawn. Where the crap did you get that mower? I didn’t know they still made that kind. It’s cutesy!

I’ve been at the pool all weekend too! Have fun =]
