A Fishing Success

in All Posts

Guess what? I finally caught a fish! (Remember Attempt #1 and Attempt #2?)

(I look a little scurred of it, though!)

And Harry caught one, too!

We had a very relaxing evening.  The Husband and my brother-in-law were in charge of making dinner, so Harry and I snuck away to fish.  We came home to them cooking up a delightful FEAST!

I started off with some crackers and cheese as an appetizer to hold me over:

Dinner was divine – the Husband grilled up a veggie burger for me, which I put on a slice of bread with ketchup.  On the side were potatoes, a salad, and stuffed mushrooms.

These stuffed mushrooms are the Husband’s specialty.  He’s been making them for as long as I can remember.  He stuffs them with cream cheese and tops it off with balsamic vinegar and cheddar.

Plus, a “Shandy,” but with 1/2 Peroni beer and 1/2 Ginger Ale.

And a gooey, rich piece of chocolate cake and strawberries.  I’m pretty stuffed right now.  I just looked back on my afternoon post and realized I had three drinks and two desserts today!  (This is why food blogging can be very helpful!) Hah!  Oh, Saturdays….

I hope you’re spending the holiday weekend with people you love and cherish.  If not, give them a ring on the phone (which reminds me to call my own mommy!).

Lots of love!  Have a great night!

I’m not gonna’ lie–the chocolate cake looks way better than the fish, which is totally scary-looking. (You have every right to be half-cringing, half-smiling.)
