Lunch was delightful AND packed with fruits and veggies — something I’ve intensely craving lately.

The star of the show was a steamed asparagus, tomato, and Sabra hummus whole wheat wrap.

What a fun way to sneak in some greens into a wrap BESIDES lettuce!

Plus, a plum and grapes:

And an Adora calcium dark chocolate:

I’ve had the Adora calcium milk chocolate, and I must say the dark chocolate is much, much better.  A fun way to get my calcium in!

What’s your favorite fruit and your favorite vegetable?

Mine are:  watermelon and carrots.

  • Julie May 21, 2009, 8:52 am

bananas and broccoli…cantaloupe is a close second for fruit though.

  • sloank May 21, 2009, 9:02 am

That’s a hard one, I love all fruit!! I’ll have to say peaches, simply because that’s an old nickname I had haha. And favorite veggies… carrots, by far!!!

Random questions: First off, what type of wrap are you using?? Also, your lunches always look so scrumptious and detailed… how do you find time to make them during youru busy work day??

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point May 21, 2009, 9:05 am

sloank – its wrap from the makers of flat out (i think?)

honestly that lunch took five minutes to make! it was so easy.

  • runnerskitchen May 21, 2009, 9:05 am

Your wraps always look so good! I need to buy some hummus ASAP, so I can make my own. Fruit and veggie-based meals are so refreshing on hot days 🙂

  • Trish May 21, 2009, 9:09 am

Peaches and sweet potatoes -if I had to pick just one for each.

  • Balance, Joy and Delicias! May 21, 2009, 9:14 am

  • Erica May 21, 2009, 9:17 am

Lunch looks awesome! I eat so many fruits and veggies…its hard to pick favorites! Apples, pineapple, brussels, peppers

  • Victoria May 21, 2009, 9:17 am

    Strawberries and artichokes.

  • Mica May 21, 2009, 9:22 am

It’s funny that your wrap had asparagus because it is one of my LEAST favorite vegetables…because it makes my pee smell funny. (And because I don’t like the taste.) I’m glad that you like it though!

  • SuzanneRN May 21, 2009, 9:22 am

Tough decision! But the first that come to mind– are granny smith apples and corn (fresh corn on the cob!!)

  • The Decayed Gentlewoman May 21, 2009, 9:23 am

It is so hard to pick a favorite- I’ll go with rasberries and spinach.

I seriously need to make that wrap for lunch sometime soon! It looks amazing.
How do you get your wraps to wrap up so neatly? Mine always fall apart. I’m sure I put too much stuff in it, but I can’t help myself.
My decidedly non-pretty wrap today (and all week, to be honest) has has tomato, spinach, roasted zucchini and yellow squash, black beans, hot sauce, and a slice of pepper jack cheese. Yum!

  • K from ksgoodeats May 21, 2009, 9:23 am

Right now my favorite fruits are apples and my favorite veggies are mushrooms (particularly with hummus!)

  • Andrea May 21, 2009, 9:24 am

  • Katherine May 21, 2009, 9:31 am

Either strawberries or nectarines, or cherries…hmm…or plums! If I had to choose the one I’d like most at this moment though, I think it’d have to be a plum, thanks to your lunchtime inspiration! My favorite veggies are cucumbers and sweet potatoes, the first during the summer and the potatoes during the cooler months.

Enjoy your lunch and have a wonderful afternoon!

  • Nicole ( May 21, 2009, 9:33 am

Vegetable:Asparagus…no, sweet potatoes. No, artichokes. Or tomatoes?

This is too much thought for me this afternoon 🙂

  • Krista May 21, 2009, 9:46 am

    Strawberries and asparagus!!!

  • Lesi May 21, 2009, 9:46 am

Asparagus: Most definately. Even though your pee smells even if you go to the bathroom only five minutes later. And for fruit: plums, but they have to be perfectly ripe…

    Great posts yesterday 😉

  • seesaraheat May 21, 2009, 9:48 am

Lunch looks yummy 🙂 I had asparagus in a sandwich today, too. It is up there as one of my favorite veggies I think. Fruit is just too tough…pineapple? Bananas? I love it all!

I loved the “end the fat talk” series. You’ve affected more people than you know, I think!

As far as fruits and veggies…My favorite fruit is a toss up between blueberries or bananas. Even better if they’re combined. 🙂

  • Julie May 21, 2009, 4:48 pm
