A Friendly Face

I was so excited to see my Meghann for lunch today!

CIMG5359

I stole her away from work and we grabbed a bite at Ethos, a fun vegan restaurant in downtown Orlando.  Ethos has a funky vibe and a pretty creative vegan menu. Yay!

CIMG5358

Being the twins that we are, we ordered the same exact thing!

CIMG5355

My Coconut Curry tofu wrap was packed with yummy and creamy curry sauce, raisins, and lettuce, all wrapped up in a spinach wrap.  I had a bowl of pineapple on the side.

CIMG5356

It was good, but it was GINORMOUS!  I only ate 3/4 of the wrap.

It always cracks me up to take photos of Meghann taking photos of her food.  I don’t know why I find it so silly!

It was so nice to catch up! I haven’t seen Meghann in weeks, but I don’t feel like it’s been that long since we talk everyday and I read her blog three times a day.  :)   Her marathon is NEXT SUNDAY! Can you believe it? I am so excited for her — I wish I could go and cheer her on!

Speaking of running…. on the way home from lunch, I stopped into the Track Shack, which is Orlando’s speciality running store.  It was kind of sad to be there because I’m not really running at the moment.

CIMG5360

I was there to buy new knee sleeves because my old ones are totally worn out.  I don’t wear them on the bike, but they are good to wear when I do the elliptical and (maybe) if I decide to run a little.  I also bought two new Clif Shots. I prefer the Bloks or jelly beans, but you kind of need the liquid while biking!

I also bought Meghann a little surprise for her marathon (no, Meghann… it’s not a fanny pack. Sorry!).

After shopping, I came home and did some work on the Healthy Lifestyle Blogger Summit.  We should be signing contracts soon, so hopefully we’ll have the exact dates in the next few weeks!  Get excited!

And then I had a snack.  You know what it was — yogurt and cereal.

CIMG5362

OK, I totally realize I eat this every afternoon and I’m sure it gets boring to look at — but I just LOVE yogurt and cereal.  I’m sorry! 🙂

How cute is this?

I love the picture of your parents. What year was that? It reminds me of one of my parents, circa 1977ish.

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point May 22, 2009, 1:04 pm

jess – it was prob like 1975 or something. LOL. it screams 1970s doesnt it

I know you’ll appreciate this story, with your Husband being English.

When I was in college I always worked at a Girl Scout Resident camp. Camps often have international staff members working at them.

I will NEVER forget the look of horror on my co-counselors face when I told some camper to bring me the FANNY pack that held our groups first aid kit.

She couldn’t believe I had said the word Fanny, and I had NO CLUE what it meant to her. 🙂

  • Mica May 22, 2009, 1:35 pm

I bought that kind of knee-sleeve for my left knee, which has been feeling kind of wonky lately. Coupled with rest, it really seems to help!

    Have a lovely weekend!

  • jenngirl May 22, 2009, 1:46 pm

  • HangryPants May 22, 2009, 3:31 pm

Oh my god Caitlin you really look a lot like your mom! And maybe it’s just me, but Kristien kind of look like your dad – sans beard, erc.

  • MaryBe May 22, 2009, 4:08 pm

That wrap was as big as Meghann’s arm!

  • Kailey (SnackFace) May 22, 2009, 4:09 pm

AWWW okay, first and foremost, those pictures are absolutely darling. I cannot get over it!

Lunch looks amazing! Haha that wrap is almost the size of Meghann’s arm! Delicious! The wrap. Not the arm.

I def. do not hate on the cereal. I’d say that if I actually measured my cereal, I probably eat 3-4 cups a day. Can’t fight the addiction!

Hope you have a great night 🙂

  • Julie May 22, 2009, 4:20 pm

  • heather May 23, 2009, 5:59 pm

I was at Ethos last night!!! I debated going with the coconut curry wrap, but decided that my old standby of pizza is good for treat night, which is what Ethos always is. So yummy!!!
