Pretty predictably, due to the late-night happy hour, I overslept and missed my Shred.  Today is actually the LAST DAY of my 30 Day Shred Challenge, so I’ll be shredding tonight and posting my thoughts + ‘after’ pictures.  Stay tuned!

I made a quick bowl of oatmeal for brekkie:

My oatmeal contained:

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 sliced banana
  • Toppings: pecans and granola

Basic, but delish:

UNDER ARMOUR is Looking for Breast Cancer Survivors to Become the  New Face of the Power in Pink Campaign

I absolutely LOVE UNDER ARMOUR workout gear.  That’s why I was so excited to hear about the The "Power in Pink" line, which includes a variety of technical tops, bottoms, accessories and footwear all bearing the iconic pink breast cancer awareness ribbon.   For every “Power in Pink” item purchased in-store or online, UNDER ARMOUR will donate a percentage of the proceeds to a number of organizations dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.

Do you know someone who is living with or is in recovery from breast cancer?  Tell them about this AWESOME contest!

 power in pink

UNDER ARMOUR is encouraging survivors and women currently living with breast cancer to share their stories of strength and survival.   The survivors will become the new faces of the "Power in Pink" campaign and star in national magazines, online advertisements and in-store visuals.  The chosen survivors will get an all expense paid trip to Baltimore for a 2-day photo shoot and interview session.

Entries will be accepted between now and June 1, 2009.  Check out UNDER ARMOUR’s new site: www.underarmour.com/powerinpink!

Together, we can find a cure!

So exciting that it is the last day of shred! I am so excited to read about your experiences!! This UA campaign is very cool. My closest Aunt is a survivor and is a pretty amazing lady. I am going to tell her about the contest. She kicks so major booty!

what an exciting contest! my next door neighbor grandma had breast cancer and has fully recovered, and even gone through colon cancer after the fact! she’s such a strong woman! i def want to tell her about this!

can’t wait to hear about your shred experience…

  • Brandi April 2, 2009, 6:05 am

that’s awesome that under armour is doing that. My grandmother had breast cancer a few years ago, but she doesn’t like to talk about it. I’ll have to look for their new stuff, though.

can’t wait to see your pics/thoughts on the 30 day shred!

It’s been raining here like crazy lately so I’ve been doing 2 shreds at once (I start with Level 2 and then do Level 1). This morning I didn’t feel like being in the plank position that much so I did Level 1 with 5 pound weights (instead of 3) and it felt great! Just the *light* workout I needed. 🙂

I am looking forward to reading the results!!!

i should have taken your advice and done a semi-silly april fools joke. i told my mom that my bf and i were getting engaged and she started to cry (tears of joy, don’t worry) before i could yell “april fools!”

it was actually kinda funny and we’ve laughed a lot about it since, but i think next year i won’t joke about something as serious 😉

p.s. new balance has a lot of breast cancer awareness running apparel too. they are also very involved in the race for the cure and i think sponsor it.

Okay, Caitlin, your review is the one thing standing between me and Shred! No joke. I’ve been looking for every excuse not to get tortured by Jillian, but if you say it works…

Can’t wait to hear about your month of shredding! And to see your after pictures!
That under armour contest is awesome, my grandmother had breast cancer twice and survived both times, so that cause is one that is very close to my heart.

Can’t wait to see your before and after from the 30 day shred!! I am very excited about the new under armour campaign!!

  • Sara April 2, 2009, 8:20 am

I’m looking forward to your results from the Shred. I love Under Armour too and that’s great that they have a “pink” line.

  • lauren April 2, 2009, 8:36 am

congrats on 30 days of the shred! cant wait to hear your review…

Oh and I am right with you on the Under Armour love. right in line with your april fools joke – you should run the baltimore marathon in october – you get an underarmour shirt! 😉

Oh I love this! I am a huge UA fan and I’ll be walking in my 6th Avon Walk for Breast Cancer this Summer. I will be sure to pass this on to my friend Nan who was recently diagnosed and is still going to walk in 9 avon walks this year despite chemo and mastectomy treatments. She rocks! I can’t wait to buy… I’m a pink ribbon FREAK!

  • Matt April 2, 2009, 9:14 am

    Haha I don’t think I want a pink shirt!

  • runsarah April 2, 2009, 9:43 am

Great post on breast cancer awareness. Excited to hear your overall review of the Shred…I am contemplating doing 30 days straight before my wedding.

  • Sarah (lovINmytummy) April 2, 2009, 9:59 am

I can’t wait to see your Shred results. I haven’t been doing it daily, but I’m pretty sure I can see a difference.
