Blogger Summit UPDATE

in All Posts

As we announced to the blog world earlier in the week, six of your favorite foodie bloggers have been secretly working behind the scenes for months to organize a Blogger SummitKath, Jenna, Tina, Meghann, Heather, and I envision this as a weekend of food, fun, friends, and fitness for other bloggers and readers.  We anticipate the summit will take place in early August.

To make the Blogger Summit as fun and affordable as possible, we are working with several famous foodie companies that will serve as the summit’s sponsors.   They have asked us to gather some demographical information about our readers.  Please take a minute to complete our short 10 question survey. You only need to take it once, so if you take it on one blog please do not take it again.

Click here to take the Blogger Summit survey!

Thank you!

A Pile of Pancakes

Somehow I restrained myself all week from eating pancakes for breakfast.  Guess that’s why I ended up eating a pile of pancakes today!

I was craving banana pancakes.  These little suckers always make me so happy for some reason.  It’s the little things in life, right?

Made with Hodgson’s Mills InstaBake pancake mix.

Speaking of the little things that make me happy:

  • Last night I had remembered to prep the coffee maker so I didn’t have to fumble with it this morning.  That made me really happy!
  • It’s Thursday! Thank heavens.
  • Sunday is my 25th Birthday, and I’m going to Disney to celebrate!  I’m not so thrilled about the birthday, but Disney is pretty cool.
  • I’m looking forward to spin class/swimming tonight — can’t decide which one to choose.
  • Only 8 days until I fly to Virginia to see my BFFs Sarah, Becki, and Bethany for a weekend!

Keeping my eye on the positive!

What little things make YOU happy?

  • Amelia (AC/DC: Highways to Health) April 23, 2009, 3:57 am

    Just took the survey! Yay!

Disney for the birthday sounds awesome. That’s one of my all-time favorite places. 🙂
One of the little things that makes me extremely happy is good weather!

  • Leanne April 23, 2009, 3:58 am

Lot’s of things to look forward to! Have a great day.

  • Erica April 23, 2009, 4:00 am

Great bfast. Totally just took the survey 🙂 Happy early birthday! I am looking forward to dinner with all of ther other group fitness instructors tonight! We have a launch coming up for one of our programs so after practice tonight, we’re doing din din!

  • Mica April 23, 2009, 4:00 am

Disney sounds like a great way to celebrate a birthday, no matter what age.

And where in VA are you going?

  • NoMeatAthlete April 23, 2009, 4:07 am

The little thing that makes me happy is having my once-a-week cup of coffee at the bookstore. I recently gave up daily coffee, so that weekly reward is pure heaven.

Other than that, gnocchi on a rainy day!

Your blogger summit sounds like a lot of fun, congratulations on being successful enough to get sponsorship for it!

  • Balance, Joy and Delicias! April 23, 2009, 4:07 am

so many things to be happy about!
Are u coming to VA? which part? are u thinking of a blogger meet up? Let me know! 🙂

I’m heading to do the survey!

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point April 23, 2009, 4:12 am

mica and balance – you girls are so sweet to want to meet up! i would too, normally, but i’m only going to be there for 48 hours and want to spend time with my BFFs, who i havent seen in MONNNNTHS!! maybe next time 😉

  • Moran April 23, 2009, 4:31 am

Breakfast, the amazing kids I get to teach…so many things just randomly come up in my mind every day! I am so blessed!

  • VeggieGirl April 23, 2009, 4:52 am

Hooray for lots of excitement ahead!!

  • RhodeyGirl/Sabrina April 23, 2009, 5:02 am

    yummy pancakes!

everything makes me happy today. life is grand!

    enjoy spin or swimming tonight!

  • just me April 23, 2009, 5:08 am

ohhhh..disney! i def am going to get there before i leave!!!

and the simple things make me happy: pretty sunrise, birds chirping, good cup of tea w/ a nice book, laying in a hammock…:D

  • Staci April 23, 2009, 5:15 am

Happy early birthday!! I went to Disney for my 23rd birthday this year and it is so fun! They give you this cute little name tag and you get a bunch of free stuff when you’re there. Have a great time!!

  • itsawrapteacher April 23, 2009, 5:23 am

Sunday is my bday too! Turning the big 2-6!

  • Kelly April 23, 2009, 5:38 am

Going to Disney would definitely make me happy. Going grocery shopping makes me very happy. Waking up and eating breakfast to start the day makes me happy.

    Have a good day!

  • Kelly April 23, 2009, 5:53 am

Happy early birthday! I just turned 24, and feel sort of ambivalent about it, too… there’s nothing like Disney to remind you that we’re always young on the inside, right? 😉

  • greendogwine April 23, 2009, 5:58 am

    Happy early birthday! 😉

I already told this to Heather – but let me know if you girls need help with any re: the summit! I’ll gladly be an extra set of hands or help out!

  • nibblesandwiggles April 23, 2009, 6:04 am

    Thanks for the blogger update.

Yeah, I didn’t feel so great about 25 either ;). Hope you have a blast at Disney!

Where in VA are you going? I live near DC.

  • megan April 23, 2009, 6:04 am

so many little things make me happy – a good meal, a sunny day, a free saturday, planting a garden, going for a walk, every evening with my husband, etc. i always come up with things to look forward to in my day 🙂

  • Brandi April 23, 2009, 6:05 am

i love the little things, too. They’re what make some days okay 🙂

I love the little spots of banana peeking out of your pancakes.

25 is big, but not as life changing as I thought it would be. I had mine last summer – still crazy! I never remember how old I am!

  • Amanda April 23, 2009, 6:14 am

Happy Early Birthday! My birthday is on Tuesday 🙂

    I am looking forward to
-a run/making dinner/watching The Office with my boyfriend tonight
-a gooorgeous weekend with some friends from college
-an early birthday brunch with my dad on Sunday
-my 10 mile race on May 3!

  • Quinn April 23, 2009, 6:29 am

    Yay! Almost your birthday!

Took the survey and I CANNOT WAIT for this this summer!

Where in VA are you visiting? Northern or Southern?

  • iowagirleats April 23, 2009, 6:32 am

Aw Disney! Good times 🙂 Mmmm little things like getting my favorite parking spot at work make me happy 🙂

  • Anonymous April 23, 2009, 6:44 am

Be thrilled about your birthday…25 is so young! There are those of us who read your blog who are, ahem, firmly ensconced in our 30s and loving it.

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point April 23, 2009, 6:46 am

Anon – Awww you are so sweet. I guess I don’t feel so ‘young’ anymore. 25 (or 35 or 45) really isn’t ‘old’ but I do feel like my days of youthful irresponsibility are way over. Maybe Disney will help?? 🙂 Thanks for the Bday wishes!

  • Susan April 23, 2009, 6:48 am

I love the little things! One of my favorite parts of the day is getting the mail, even if I don’t actually get anything myself. The anticipation of maybe getting something is so exciting!

Banana pancakes don’t hurt either. 🙂

  • Zesty Cook April 23, 2009, 6:59 am

I am excited about this Blogger summit!

  • Erin April 23, 2009, 7:03 am

    25 will be fun! 🙂
The little things are the best. I’m trying to focus on them more. I love coffee and hiking. Which is why after I read this post, I made a cup, even if it’s not the healthiest thing ever. It’s making my morning much brighter.

  • Sarah (lovINmytummy) April 23, 2009, 7:04 am

Is it strange that Chris is super excited (for me) about the Blogger summit?!

New Healthy Tipping Point posts make me happy. And seeing you carbo load on beer. And bad bowling murals. And when Gina feasts on Indian food. And when Meghann makes no apologies for hitting up the ice cream or chocolate.

    Happppy Thursday!

  • audrey w. April 23, 2009, 7:27 am

love banana pancakes too, especially with honey..i’ll be with you on the 2-5 come december and that does not make me excited but the lovely summer produce coming does!

  • Danielle April 23, 2009, 7:37 am

    Thanks for the survey link!!!!!

  • Kristi April 23, 2009, 7:46 am

Can’t wait to see what the BLogger Summit will be! SO excited!

  • seesaraheat April 23, 2009, 7:48 am

Happy Birthday on Sunday! 25 was a weird age for me, it really hit me how old I was. But you will have fun and it just gets better…26 has rocked and I’m really looking forward to 27 in a couple of weeks, wow! 🙂

  • Michele April 23, 2009, 7:55 am

Happy birthday on Sunday! I’ll be 25 on Monday!

  • Help Meghan Run April 23, 2009, 7:57 am

Did you listen to the “Banana Pancakes” song while making or eating your pancakes? 😉 Love your list of things to look forward to, and happy early birthday!

  • redheadedjournal April 23, 2009, 8:00 am

I like when people do nice things out of the blue 🙂

  • Amy April 23, 2009, 8:04 am

Good Morning! I was just wondering if there will only be limited spots for those who want to attend the blogger summit, or will only a small few get to go?

    Thanks, Amy

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point April 23, 2009, 8:06 am

Amy – If we limit the number of people who can attend, it will be due to conference space issues. We’re thinking there will be at least 100 people there! Anyone – readers OR bloggers – can attend! Stay tuned for more!

  • Anonymous April 23, 2009, 8:08 am

Yikes,25 is not old. Although I do understand your feelings…hardest year ever was 26 for me…because I was on my way to 30!! OMG…gee that was a long time ago. I loved my thirties and they were so much better than the 20’s…you will find out in due time. But ok, I feel OLD…I took your survey and my AGE is not even on there…sounds like this might be a 20-30 somethings party…and thats ok…I pretend I am still in that age group too! Happy Thursday and Happy early birthday.

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point April 23, 2009, 8:10 am

anon – hahaha awww thanks for the comment. age is just a number anyway, right? and the summit will be open and will cater to ALLLLL ages and both sexes! so please think about coming. the reason age isn’t a question on the survey is because it doesn’t really matter!

  • trialsoftraining April 23, 2009, 8:30 am

those pancakes are so cute! I always think of the Jack Johnson song when I see banana pancakes 🙂

the fact that it’s thursday Always makes me happy – good TV (LOVE the Office/30 Rock) is the major selling point here. 🙂 and it’s sunny outside. simple as that – I’m happy!

  • Christina April 23, 2009, 8:39 am

Omg I want pancakes now! I’ve been thinking about them all week.

    The blogger summit sounds great!

  • Hollie April 23, 2009, 8:46 am

    We have the same birthday!
    It’ll be my 18th.

I don’t have my own blog, but I’m a reader everyday.

    Have a happy birthday.

  • Matt April 23, 2009, 8:56 am

Haha I always get my coffee ready the night before. I turn on the time so it is piping hot when I wake up 🙂

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point April 23, 2009, 9:04 am

Hollie – Happy 18th Birthday!!! Yay for voting 🙂

  • Sara April 23, 2009, 9:05 am

A birthday at Disney? FUN! Have a great time. Your pancakes look delish, as always. A little thing that makes me happy is when my puppy greets me, when I come home. He’s just so happy to see me. 🙂

  • monsappetit April 23, 2009, 9:12 am

i love banana pancakes! and i love it that you have pancakes during the week and not just on weekends!

  • HangryPants April 23, 2009, 9:14 am
