Awww! Look at all those cute puppies! I took my puppy to visit my sister's dogs today and it was crazy! They run around like maniacs! I just got home and now my pup is pooped-that is a definite benefit of these little excursions!

Dinner looks YUM!! It's not even Valentine's Day yet and I've already overdosed on chocolate! My family had so much up at their house and I couldn't resist! Oh well! Happy Valentines Day, Caitlin <3

Quick question….how many miles do you usually run a week when you are not training??
What is a good solid number to consistantly aim for?
    Thanks Caitlin!

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point February 14, 2009, 8:38 am

i usually run 20 miles a week when not training. i don’t think there is one magic number that works for everyone. it depends on what kind of endurance you would like to maintain when you aren’t actively training. for example, if you seek to always be in 5K shape, you don’t need to run as far as you would if you want to always be in 10K shape (which is how i am). also, some people can run 20 miles a week without any problems, but other people will experience muscle and joint pain or exhaustion from running that distance each week. i think its really just a personal preference!
