I finally get to control the remote!

CIMG2102

We put a TV in the bedroom! And now it’s MINE!  My entire life, I’ve been against TVs in the bedroom, but that was before I got a Husband that watched Sports Center 24/7.  Now I get to snuggle with the puppies and watch endless reruns of Law and Order and The Biggest Loser. Yay!

It is highly likely the Husband and I will never speak again.

In other news… I worked another 11 hour shift today.  These long days are killing me, because by the end I am done with work, I really don’t want to exercise — I just want to do my chores and zone out.  So, I skipped cardio day. In hindsight, I wish I had just gone to the gym, but I needed time to decompress.

Here are this afternoon’s eats and dinner! Chobani and Fiber 1…

CIMG2088

The last of my True Delights stash.  In the end, it’s my opinion that these bars are basically candy bars disguised as granola bars.   This was like eating sugary air.

CIMG2089

Around 5:00 PM, I realized I still had at least an hour and a half to go, so I ate something substantial..

Pumpkin butter + WW toast (and a handful of almonds)

CIMG2090

Dinner was a BBQ meal, Southern style!

CIMG2093

The star ingredient was Country Bob’s BBQ Sauce, which the company was kind enough to send to me!

CIMG2101

Dinner was mashed red potatoes, steamed green beans, and BBQ chicken.  Yum!

Back to the TV — and then, time to go to bed at 9:00 PM!  Lame!

haha love the picture of Kristien in the background with the sauce…lol

  • Kristie Lynn February 16, 2009, 7:26 pm

With Kristien in the background, you’d think that Pitt was playing a big game tonight or something 😉 I bet someone was happy!

  • amy. February 16, 2009, 7:26 pm

  • Erica February 16, 2009, 7:40 pm

hahaha boy do i hear you! I was so use to our multiple tvs in our house that having 1 tv in the apartment is driving me nuts! Love those pups! Can’t wait to try my sauce!

  • Hallie February 16, 2009, 7:40 pm

I need “my” bedroom TV for my Grey’s and Real Housewives. It’s so necessary to close the door and zone sometimes!

Those mashed potatoes look great. (I think all I ever do is comment on the carb elements of bloggers’ meals. Starch addict much?)

Long days take time getting used to – that is for sure. My schedule changed in January, and it’s still taking its toll on me. Don’t worry – you’ll get in the swing before you know it 🙂

Enjoy your TV girl! haha …..and relax after that longgg shift!

  • Jen February 16, 2009, 7:44 pm

Hmmm, I wonder if I could be convinced to get a TV in my bedroom…I can definitely see the upside to being able to watch whatever I want…without the boy yelling at the TV, which he does whenever he disagrees with someone, doesn’t like what they’re wearing, etc.

  • Mica February 16, 2009, 7:44 pm

I second Meghann’s comment. The husband looks so funny behind the sauce bottle.

Speaking of which, I have to try some of that. I LOOOOVE barbeque!

  • Kimberly February 16, 2009, 7:50 pm

Yay! Control of your own TV is the key to any successful relationship 😉 Your comment about never speaking again reminded me of this: http://www.someecards.com/upload/farewell/i_got_an_hdtv.html

    Love Law & Order! 🙂

If my boss has her way tomorrow will be a crazy long day for me…like 12 hours IF the board meeting lets out on time…right. My first thought? "When will I exercise or even have the energy to make dinner??".

  • Sharon February 16, 2009, 8:24 pm

    Hi Caitlin!
Love your dinner- it looks sooooo delicious! Your husband sounds exactly like mine! We have sports on ALL the time! I think I’m going to need to put a tv in our bedroom, too! My husband Just HATES when I watch The Biggest Loser! He’s always complaining that it is too long!

Btw, congrats on your long run yesterday. You are awesome! You continue to inspire me 🙂

    Have an awesome night!

  • Nicole (anotheronebitesthecrust.wordpress.com) February 16, 2009, 8:31 pm

Wow, 11 hour days! At least you’ve got the TV to comfort you after the loooong day!

  • Ryan (chasing daylight) February 16, 2009, 8:37 pm

Is Kristien watching Sports Center in that bbq sauce picture? lol, Point in case I guess!

I totally agree about the True Delights bars…I think I still have like 3 left because I can’t bring myself to waste my bar eats on them…agh.

  • Sara February 16, 2009, 8:38 pm

I’ve been against a tv in the bedroom too…but maybe your on to something. My hubby is addicted to Sports Center and ESPN.

  • HangryPants February 16, 2009, 8:59 pm

Congratulations on the television. May you watch many TV marathons in peace with the pups.

  • ChickPea February 16, 2009, 10:40 pm

What does the ingredients list look like on Country Bob’s. I am in the market for some BBQ sauce, but they all have HFCS!

  • Sarah (lovINmytummy) February 16, 2009, 11:38 pm

We just put a TV in our bedroom too…now I just need hubs to hook up the damn digital converter box! This may change my life as well!

  • sarah February 17, 2009, 3:20 am

what is it with men and SportsCenter? i don’t get it. i am happy we don’t have a tv (get by with watching shows online + netflix!).

any chance you would enjoy some morning workouts? like you i hate dragging myself to the gym after a long day.

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point February 17, 2009, 4:34 am

everyone – yes, i took that picture with the husband in the background to prove he watches sports all the time. 🙂 well, a lot.

kristie lynn – hahah yes! GO PITT!

    kimberly – i love someecards!

sharon – hiiii!!! when you are going to start your blog?!?!?

chickpea – it has HFCS in it but the ingredient list is otherwise OK. the only BBQ sauce i have seen without HFCS is Anne’s Organic BBQ Sauce.

sarah – morning works out just dont work for me. i have to start work at 7 AM. its dark outside and i can’t run safely. 🙁 plus i need sleep!

  • Aimee February 17, 2009, 7:46 am

  • Brandi February 17, 2009, 8:54 am

we don’t have one in the bedroom, and my husband is probably happy about that. I like to fall asleep with it on and he hates that.
