Morning!  Another work week begins.  I have a lot of work to do this week, so I better get cracking!

I woke up STARVING!  I knew I had not made up my calorie deficit from my 10.35-miler but I simply could not eat anymore food before bed! So, I was quite happy to attack my oatmeal this AM.

My oatmeal contained:

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 sliced banana
  • Toppings: coconut, almonds, and Grape Nuts

It was a great bowl of oatmeal, but in hindsight, I should’ve made it bigger because I’m still a little hungry!

Questions?  And a Giveaway Announcement!

I racked my brain for something fun to discuss on the blog this AM, but I couldn’t think of a single topic for some reason (probably because it’s 6:30 AM!).  If you have a question for me and readers to discuss, leave it in the comments or shoot me an email at seebriderun@gmail.com.

In other news, I’m doing a RoadID giveaway this week!  Get excited!

My question is in regards to counting calories or more specifically, how to stop counting them? It is almost an automatic response to add them up for the day in my head. How did you stop counting? Any tips/tricks that might be helpful?

    The return of coffee!

Sorry your oatmeal wasn’t more filling. I’m sure you’ll eat something yummy later to make up for it!

Smaller brekkie just means a yummy snack later! 🙂
Although, I do really love huge bowls of oats. I’m in love with the ginormous heart healthy serving these days!

I’m excited for the Road ID contest!! I didn’t get one for Joe’s bday this week because I’m unsure of where we’ll be living in a few months and didn’t want to leave the location blank, but I will get him one eventually. 🙂

  • Kimberly February 16, 2009, 9:34 am

Morning, Caitlin! My question has to do with food and socioeconomics in Pittsburgh (since I am an urban studies nerd and find that city fascinating.) I was only there once, but was struck by the lack of healthy (or even unfried!) dining options downtown… do you think the city’s food culture is a reflection of its coal/steelworker roots? While you were living there, was it difficult to eat a well-balanced diet? Is there much access to health education/fresh produce, both in P-burgh and in the poorer Appalachian areas outside of the city?

  • Danielle February 16, 2009, 9:37 am

    That oatmeal looks great!
hope you have a great Monday!
When it comes to Food Blogging what’s the hardest part for you? what’s the easiest?

I see that you already answered most of the questions but I wanted to ask why you and the husband ended up moving from Pittsburg to FL, are you originally from there?
