Anchorman!  Anyone, anyone?

OK – so it’s technically my "Friday" and all I want is to be DONE with work.  I finally got my Internet working again (yay) so I’m trucking along.  Can’t wait to call quitting time!

I have been sups hungry all morning.  I snacked on an orange…

And a "green monster."

CIMG2374

My green smoothie contained 3/4 cup skim milk and spinach.  MMMM.  The Husband said I’m suffering from a Liver Chi deficiency (don’t ask me to explain what that means, I’m not the Oriental Medicine doctor), so I’m trying to boost my iron intake.

Lunch was a simple wrap and a side of steamed broc.

CIMG2375

My wrap contained chicken deli meat, pickles, and more spinach.  I feel like I’m turning green.

Plus, some granola and yogurt, which finally satisfied my hunger.

hahaha love Anchorman! Yayy for lots of green- your body loves you for it 😉 Interesting facts.

  • Anna February 26, 2009, 11:25 am

whoa that is a scary amount of TV. I think I average 5 hours per month? Because don’t have a TV in my dorm room!

  • Brandi February 26, 2009, 11:26 am

    yay for getting internet back!

    that’s a lot of tv!

  • Emily February 26, 2009, 11:27 am

Yum! I had oranges today, too!

Your green smoothie looks good. Do you add anything in addition to milk and spinach?

  • fitforfree February 26, 2009, 11:28 am

Same ? as Emily: is the milk/spinach combo sweet enough as is?

Those TV stats are depressing!! Think what you could do with that many hours of running, or practicing an instrument, or volunteering . . .

  • balanceisbest February 26, 2009, 11:30 am

Interesting facts – salaries are pretty depressing. How can people own (and keep up) a home on that income?!

Thanks for the comment yesterday, you DID make me laugh. AND there may have been some truth to your explanation – who knows! Thanks again!!!

    Kaneil, balanceisbest

OH and I am SOOOOO amazed by the Gasparilla races this weekend. You will do GREAT! Just keep your pace…the mere fact of finishing is impressive enough!

    Caitlin,

You are just a woman. With a small brain. It’s science.

    🙂

  • peanutbutterandjuli February 26, 2009, 11:32 am

The title of your blog popped up on my Google Reader and I almost snorted my coffee. Which would have been bad for many reasons, one of which I’m sneaking it in the library right now…

I need to hop on this green smoothie train, although they look scary!

Thanks for those facts 🙂 So crazy and interesting.

  • Betsy February 26, 2009, 11:32 am

Oh man I would not want half of those things considered “average”… yikes!

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point February 26, 2009, 11:33 am

the spinach smoothie tastes OK with just skim and spinach. it kind of tastes the way you would expect it to taste — i.e. not sweet.

  • Nicole (anotheronebitesthecrust.wordpress.com) February 26, 2009, 11:33 am

I’m loving all the green food 😀

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point February 26, 2009, 11:34 am

choco9 – scotch, scotch, scotch, swimming around, in my belly.

  • Dori February 26, 2009, 11:41 am

I’m iron deficient, which is surprising considering all I eat is protein! Interesting about the money the average American makes – then again the average American doesn’t live in NYC!

  • Missy February 26, 2009, 11:43 am

Love the wrap! Those fun facts just made me feel much better about my salary!

  • BOBBI McCORMICK February 26, 2009, 11:49 am

that is my favorite Will Farrel quote ever …..

  • Leah February 26, 2009, 12:01 pm

    Happy “Friday” hehe 🙂

  • choco9 February 26, 2009, 12:12 pm

It’s a formidable scent. It stings the nostrils. I’m gonna be honest with you, Brian, that smells like pure gasoline.

Okay I’ll stop. I have to go put some Sex Panther on and get going.

    Caitlin you are the balls.

  • alessa February 26, 2009, 12:19 pm

That is a lot of t.v. Although I would be scared to know how much time I spend on the computer, the time goes by so quickly blogging!

    Hi Caitlin!

I am looking for advice. I’ve decided to really buckle down and start losing weight. I am going home for spring break this week, and I was wondering what kind of food to bring back for my dorm room, that is healthy but won’t spoil. I want to try and stay away from carbs, but the only healthy snacks that will keep in my room i can think of are bars and cereal. And I don’t like to have too many bars , bc in the past I’ve had a couple incidents of binging that I am ashamed of

sorry if that was like TMO.. but any advice would be great thanks!

  • ksgoodeats February 26, 2009, 4:22 pm

Ah the average American facts are kind of scary! I mean, that’s a whole lot of TV!!

I’ve tried to watch Anchorman three times now but I always fall asleep!

  • Janet February 26, 2009, 4:28 pm

I’m a fan of all the green! 😉

Wow, the statistics about Americans makes me very thankful for my life!

  • Mica February 26, 2009, 4:59 pm

Oh, Caitlin. You’re so wise…like a miniature Buddha…covered in hair.

(Please tell me you get that reference and don’t think I just insulted you.)

  • Every Gym's Nightmare February 26, 2009, 5:12 pm

Very interesting stats on the Average American!

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point February 26, 2009, 8:05 pm

anon – hey there! let me think about my own dorm days… i did eat a lot of cereal! but i also did weekly shopping trips for yogurt, deli meat, string cheese, bread, and veggies. i’d store them in a small dorm fridge, and it was great. i think other good options are organic canned soups (lentil has a lot of protein), nuts, etc. you can even make sweet potatoes and black beans in the microwave! if you get a hand blender, you could make fruit smoothies or protein shakes!
