  • 1 sliced banana

Greeeeeeat combo! This will definitely keep me full through lunch.

All About Meghann

This is my appeal for your help.  I have a sneaking suspicion that many of you who read this blog also read Meghann’s, so you may have heard about her Team in Training challenge.   TNT is an amazing organization that raises money for the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  As part of her fundraising, Meghann will be running the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon.

As you may know, Meghann wasn’t always a marathoner.  In January of 2008, she weighed about 30 pounds more than she does now and never, ever ran.  In just 1 year, she’s completely turned her health around and found a new focus in life (her Healthy Tipping Point!!!).  As a food and fitness blogger, Meghann is a true inspiration and deserves to be supported in this effort.

On a more personal level, I can assure you that Meghann is a friend worth making this donation for.  She’s a wonderful person with a great big heart.   Meghann could easily shell out $60 to enter a marathon on her own, but she has chosen to participate in something much greater than herself, at a great personal cost (including advertising revenue from FoodBuzz and her own time).

As our great new President said on Tuesday, "What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility — a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task."

I hope you can find the goodwill spirit inside you to donate a small amount to Meghann’s TNT fund.   This will help our friend Meghann, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and the millions of Americans affected with blood cancer diseases.

Please visit Meghann’s TNT page and make a small donation.   I donated yesterday, and I can assure you the donation process took about 1 minute.  I’m pretty sure most of us would throw away $5 on a Starbucks coffee, so please donate what you can, even if it’s just a little amount!

Good luck Meghann!  And THANK YOU for reading!

Okay, Caitlin, I seriously say this every time there’s a picture, but Maggie is SO FREAKING CUTE. I love how James looks disgruntled in his winter wear, and Maggie looks confused.

And here is the link to the runner’s commandments. I wish I could take credit for writing them, but, alas…

omg those coats are SO cute…..I never really understood why dogs needed “clothes”, but I guess thats because I grew up with a thick haired cockerspaniel who loved to galavant outside in the SNOW! I guess its necessary for smaller dogs with shorter hair 🙂 so cute! My Aunt has all sorts of accoutrements for her dog 🙂

erica – it was just a cute bulldog calendar. it was on sale for $4 🙂

mica – hahah maggie is always confused.

sarah w – true! i used to think it was stupid to dress your dogs, but if they are like maggie, they need clothes in the winter! she has no fur — she’s basically naked. 🙂

Haha – I love the dogs jackets! My Bostons are supposed to wear them since they’re leaping through snow but we always forget 🙁
