Packing for the Bachlorette!

in All Posts

I spent my evening in a whirlwind! The stress of wrapping up work, preparing for the wedding, trying to fit in runs…. ugh. It’s starting to get to me!

And stress means stress eating.  I ate a little bit of a chocolate chip cookie around 2 PM.

And around 4 PM, I had a bowl of Grape Nuts. Yum!

Maggie gave me the evil eye all afternoon for working instead of playing with her….

And James showed me his genitals a lot (what a whore!).

You looked, didn’t you? You did, didn’t you! LOL

Anyways, after work I went on a 4.0 mile run.  It took me about 40 minutes and I burned approximately 320 calories.  I’m not really following my training schedule this week, because I’m honestly having trouble getting motivated to run AT ALL, let alone run intensely.  You do the best you can do!

After my run, I felt a lot better, both physically and mentally.  I made a quick dinner…. which of course, included sprouts! I just wanted to see if I could have them with every meal.

I used two whole wheat English muffins to match four little pizzas with a little cheese. Yum!

And a green on green salad!

Last Weekend as a SINGLE Lady!

I leave for my bachlorette in NYC on Friday morning! I am soooo excited to see my best friends!  We are staying IN the center of the city — right in Times Square.

I packed tonight because I’m not really going to have a chance tomorrow night.  It was really fun to dig out my WINTER gear from Pittsburgh!

Including… my favorite coat and scarf!

DSCN9997

My new black pumps…

DSCN9988

A bunch of sweaters….

DSCN9992

My comfy boots…

DSCN9989

My new Serena dress and halter from Black Friday shopping…

DSCN9991

And a lot of other stuff, like jeans and pajamas, which I miraculously fit into one duffle bag and a carry on!

I can’t wait!

What’s your funniest bachelorette party story? I’ve actually NEVER BEEN TO A BACH PARTY! 🙂

Your dinner is making me hungry! I’ve made pizzas like that before and they are very very yummy.

So exciting that you are finally getting to pack for your bachelorette party!

  • Sharney December 3, 2008, 8:48 pm

    Hi Caitlin,
Yayyyyy! Only one more day until your bachelorette! I hope you and your friends have a great time! How could you not, right?!

I love your mini pizza dinner. How funny that you managed to incorporate alfalfa sprouts into all your meals today! Everything looks yummy!

Don’t worry about not getting in as much mileage as usual. You are doing an AWESOME job especially when you stop to consider how much you have on your plate right now. I really admire you- I don’t know how you do it all and make it look so effortless. You are the BEST, Caitlin! Take the time to enjoy yourself this weekend!

Love, love, love the doggie pictures! My dog seems to favor the same position as James! Too funny! Both your dogs are soooo cute!

Smart move on packing tonight. It will make tomorrow much easier for you. I am amazed how much you could get into those bags! I need you to pack for me next time!

Have a great evening! See ya tomorrow 🙂

  • ashley (sweet and natural) December 3, 2008, 9:38 pm

The only bachelorette party I’ve been to was a nice dinner at a wine bar. Followed by an ice cream outing. Pretty tame. However, I will be going to another next spring in New Orleans that I have been warned will be CRAZY. I have a feeling college Ashley is going to have to resurface.

P.S. I’m excited for your NYC visit! Can’t wait to see all the things you do. Let me know if you have any more questions about the city!

  • Katie December 3, 2008, 9:53 pm

i had to say – i LOVE your tan bag – i used to have it….until my dog…defaced it. *sigh* I miss that bag 🙁 love the boots and the pumps too!!!

  • Andrea of Care to Eat December 3, 2008, 10:22 pm

You are going to have a blast! My bachelorette was 14 girls meeting from all over the country in Vegas. My Mom AND my boss came and it was crazy. My Mom tried to pimp out my cousin and my college roommate to get these guys to invite us into their VIP section at a club. She kept saying, “Go dance sexy in front of them!” It worked and we ended up meeting Terrell Owens which was really cool because he had just signed with the Cowboys. That was the first night and it only got better from there.
Have fun, go wild, but BE SAFE!

  • Sam December 3, 2008, 11:10 pm

I’m officially drooling over your shoes and bags…

I’ve been to a couple bachlorette parties, but the best one was when the drag queen from the show we went to CAME WITH to the rest of the places we went!

  • Balance, Joy and Delicias! December 4, 2008, 5:08 am

    stress eating here too!!!

And addicting to pizza-like meal as well.

I have no experience of bachelorette party, so i’m looking forward to see yours.

  • Caitlin (see bride run) December 4, 2008, 5:16 am

sharon – you are so sweet!! thank you for the motivation.

ashley – thanks so much. i think we have the trip planned – we’re going to only be there for about 36 hours, unfortunately! just a quick weekend in the city. 🙂

hiedi – awww! i’ve had that bag for like 4 years, i think its from target!

andrea – i cannot say that i will personally be safe, but i CAN say my Maid of Honor will make sure i’m safe. LOL.

lara and julie – oh! i think i should’ve mentioned that the duffel is NOT a real coach bag. i got it in chinatown for $30!! and the tan bag is target – hehe. i only look rich, trust me.

Hang in there, girl … you are doing great!! This weekend will be a good stress release … you will have a blast with your best friends! Stay warm and safe!!

Your muffin pizza look very YUM!

  • girlrunningaround December 4, 2008, 6:00 am

    Your pizzas look great!

We spent my bach party at a wine bar, then a comedy club, and then bar hopping. It was so much fun hanging out with my girlfriends from all phases of my life in one place.

  • Kath December 4, 2008, 7:06 am

I looked!!! I looked!! Haha – Maggie’s eye is funny.

And I’m putting EM pizzas on our calendar!

  • Aimee December 4, 2008, 7:13 am

    I love your puppy pictures!!

I can’t wait to hear about your Bachlorette party. Mine was in Station Square, but I forget which clubs we went to. I remember one of my friends crying and half of my party sitting outside with her, including my MOH (I think it was boy issues)!! Then for one of my friend’s bachlorette party’s we were at Mario’s in the Southside and some man randomly pulled down his pants and showed off his junk to the bride to be (crazy stuff)!!

    Be safe and have fun:)

  • Elsa December 4, 2008, 7:32 am

Caitlin you will have a great time! I am in NYC and it is a great time of year to come. Christmas is definitely in the air here. But be prepared (mentally that is)..it will be in the 30’s!
Bachelorette parties are always a ton of fun, I have been to plenty. Some more wild than others but definitely talked weeks later. Haha!
I had two bachelorette parties. One in Ft. Lauderdale with my bridesmaids and one in my hometown of Chicago for those who couldn’t make it to Florida. Both were such a great time! Have fun!

  • HangryPants December 4, 2008, 7:50 am

I went to an awesome 80s prom in NYC once. That was pretty fun!

Have such a good time and I love how you roll cheap. Target rocks!

  • Marissa December 4, 2008, 8:45 am

I had my bachlorette party at my parent’s house. Part way through the party I hear one of my friends yell, “MARISSA! YOUR STRIPPERS ARE HERE!!” We all ran outside and they were actually working on some utility poles. However, they were nice enough to take a picture with us 🙂

  • aron December 4, 2008, 10:12 am
