…. with my Meghann!  We had fun!  But first, I finished work.  I had a few dried apricots around 1:00 PM….

And since I got off work early, I managed to get in a QUICK RUN in the DAYLIGHT!!! It was awesome!

I ran 3. 2 miles in 30 minutes and burned about 260 calories.  After my run, I had two slices of WW toast and PB…. I tore off the crust for some reason…. just wasn’t feeling it!

Then…. I drove to the mall to  and check out laptops with Meghann. We also popped in and out of a few stores!

I picked up some new little spoons at C&B!

The green and blue spoons were $1.95 and the little white one was only $0.95.  I love to eat oatmeal with these little babies!

Meghann and I tried on sparkly dresses in Forever 21.  One of the things I like most about Meghann is she can totally laugh at herself.  That’s an great quality in a girl!

Alright, she tried that dress on as a JOKE, but doesn’t it look HAWT?!  No… she didn’t buy it.

We headed to Green and Grille, a build-your own salad bar.

DSCN0032

For $6.50, you pick the type of lettuce and 5 toppings.  You can also add a grilled protein for $2.50.  I had a BIG romaine salad with grilled pesto shrimp.

For the toppings, I chose:

  • Edamame
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Carrots
  • Almonds
  • Blue cheese

The grilled shrimp was SO delish and moist.

And I had a thyme-based vinaigrette on the side so I could dip to my satisfaction.

When we were done eating, Meghann commented, "Ehhh, I totally need a carb!" I felt fine at that point, but by the time I got home… I definitely needed a carb.  I had a small bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats cereal.

Sounds like a great girl date. And sometimes it’s fun to try on stuff you’d never actually wear.

    Hey Caitlin,

I know that you don’t count your calories, but what would you estimate your daily intake to be around? I’m not sure that I am getting enough, so I was just curious!

    Thanks!
Btw, that Obama article was awesome 🙂

  • Caitlin (see bride run) December 4, 2008, 7:40 pm

tina – check out my “how i fuel” page (see the upper left hand side of the blog).

i shoot for 1800 – 2500 a day, depending on my calorie burn for the day.

i do have to say, if you are concerned about not getting enough calories, you’re probably not. i would recommend keeping a food log for a week or so to see how much food you are eating.

it is very important to eat enough healthy fuel!! it will make you a stronger and happier person, trust me 🙂

That is an awesome-looking salad, even if it left you in need of a carb later.
