So Close, Yet So Far Away

in All Posts

I am very disappointed because Obama and Biden are in Orlando today, and I can’t go to the rally!  Doors open at 3 PM and the rally starts at 6 PM.  I considered asking my boss if I could leave work early…. but with these impending deadlines, it’s just not a wise career move! If any locals want details, let me know!

Onto my eats for the day….

For my mid-morning snack, I had a bowl of grapes + a few almonds.  We’re really low on groceries!

And for lunch, I made a chicken + pickle sammie.

My sammie contained:

  • 2 oz. of grilled chicken, chilled and chopped into small pieces
  • 1 pickle, chopped
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 1/2 tablespoon mustard

The mixture tasted soooo delicious on two slices of toasted WW bread. YUM!

On the side, I intended to have a sliced plum tomato, but it was squishy and tasted funny, so I tossed it.

And for dessert, I had some homemade trail mix: more almonds, raisins, and peanuts:

Motivational Quote of the Day

"Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it’s only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential."

Guess who said THAT little gem?

Good luck with your new training plan and your first water run tonight! Breakfast & lunch look soooo yummy- I'm trapped at work right now with NO food 🙁

    Have a wonderful day, Caitlin!

Water running: It’s boring, so I suggest you use it as speedwork by doing intervals. Sample: WU, 2 min. hard, 2 min. easy, repeat as much as you want, CD.

Did your doc distinguish between chrondomalacia and runner’s knee/patellofemoral pain syndrome? Some doctors who are unfamiliar with running injuries often (incorrectly) interchange the two injuries. This might help you: http://forums.runnersworld.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/678106477/m/2381094455

I know sleeping in meetings is bad!

I told my supervisor and she just laughed and said I get a slap on the wrist. I figured it was better to tell her then to have her find out from someone else. Luckily she said I didn’t have to go to those meetings anymore. I told her there really was no reason for me to be there and she totally agreed! 🙂
