At Least I Went!

in All Posts

I had one of "those" workouts at the gym today, when I just don’t feel like working out. But I went anyway and did the required 40 minutes on the elliptical and bike.

I didn’t feel like putting in too much effort, so I kind of just plotted along and read OprahMy statistics show the total lack of effort:

  • Duration: 40 minutes
  • Average Heart Rate: 104 bpm
  • Maximum Heart Rate: 140 bpm
  • Calories Burned: 135

🙂 And I did some arm exercises.

Dinner – Future Husband Cooks!

I love it when I don’t have to cook.  Future Husband made a baked ginger-lemon chicken, seasoned roasted veggies, and rice

The chicken was yummy, all moist and delicious.

The rice was a little dry, so I added a dollop of yogurt and mustard with some pepper.

Afternoon Snacks

I took a break from proposal writing to make a granola + yogurt.  At least I put it in a fun glass. 🙂

This glass can be a martini glass or…. if you flip it upside down–it’s a champagne glass!

And I had a sliced banana + yogurt + a dollop of PB.

OK – Waaaaay too much yogurt today!

Clearly, my favorite food is yogurt!  Runner Ups: chocolate, really good whole wheat bread, and pecan pancakes.  What’s yours?

Good night, sleep tight. Gossip Girl calls!

TOO many favorite foods! Everyday – blueberries, ice cream, and spring rolls (made with rice paper, not friend) from my favorite vietnamese place. mmmm. Geez I’m weird.

We all have those days! Cool glass! I don’t think I have a favorite food. I’m really indecisive and can’t pick a favorite anything, but I really like PB…and sweet potatoes!

  • Meg October 13, 2008, 6:40 pm

Favorite food: OATMEAL! I could eat it all day!

How good was gossip girl?! The show is such a guilty pleasure of mine. I had one of "those days" too, so don't worry about it. 🙂 My favorite food is by far mushrooms. Sometimes I eat them with every meal of the day. They are just so flavorful but so low in calories & fat! LOVE THEM! Check out my blog sometimes: http://newtritionista.blogspot.com

I had one of those days, too! After my 8 mile long run on Saturday, I took Sunday as a rest day. I thought I would be all rested up and pumping out the miles come Monday. Boy, was I wrong! The first 2 miles were so slow and my calves were really sore. I almost decided to stop because I had planned a five mile run and didn’t think I would be able to make it. I carried on and after 2 1/2 miles, I was able to work out all the kinks. I was glad I decided to follow through with my plan! Don’t feel bad- we all have days like those. Like you said, at least you went. You got in some good exercise and will feel so much stronger next workout!

Btw, what kind of granola do you buy?

    Have a great night, Caitlin!

Exactly. Getting there is half the battle sometimes, I swear!
Plus, I read it’s good to confuse your body that way.
Favorite foods: anything with excess sugar.

That glass is very cool… I totally wouldn’t have noticed it unless you had said something.
My favorite food: Broccoli, always has been since I was a baby!

well, you still had an active workout which is better than nothing! your future husband made a nice meal 🙂 and one of my favorite foods is yogurt too! also peanut butter, and waffles.

  • Justine October 13, 2008, 7:09 pm

I had a short workout today, too. Usually I run 3-4 miles on Mondays, but after my 8 miler yesterday, something with my hip is bothering me (but I’m gonna run tomorrow!). It did the same thing a couple weeks ago after my 7.5 miler. I’m hoping this won’t be a recurrent thing! 🙁 Oh well, at least we got some activity in! That’s more than most of America can say 😉

SOME of my favorite foods include oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate, and bread. However, I don’t discriminate against foods…I like pretty much all of them! 🙂

lyss – GG was SOOOOOOOOOOOO good.

sharon – wow good job!! it takes me days to recover from a super long run. 🙂

i buy this kind of granola:

    (no spaces)

justine – i’ve been having so much trouble with my leg. i’m trying to ice it and skip the heels, etc. be good to your hip! mine was feeling wonky this weekend and future husband said it was out of place.

such good, long runs!! very awesome. 🙂

  • jenngirl October 13, 2008, 7:52 pm

Ooo that chicken DOES look moist and delicious! Good idea with the yogurt/mustard on the rice, I never know what to do with dry rice…

    LOVE that glass, so fun!!

Ooo favorite foods…#1 has got to be peanut butter, I don’t think I could live a day without it, runner-ups, bananas, hummus, Greek yogurt…I could go on for days.

    Gossip Girl was amazing tonight!

  • just me October 13, 2008, 8:11 pm

  • Leah October 13, 2008, 11:22 pm

Am I right to suggest that your FH wrapped the chicken breast in foil along with some lemon and ginger? How was the flavour? I should try it sometime! 🙂

  • Caitlin (see bride run) October 14, 2008, 3:28 am

leah – yup. you’re right! i think i was too tired to explain it accurately. LOL.

  • Andrea (Off Her Cork) October 14, 2008, 8:04 am

Yogurt is up there along with granola. I can eat granola several times a day! Love it!

I have those kinds of days. I usually make myself do something even if it’s not quite as intense. I figure that way at least I’m moving. 😀

  • Natalie Rae October 14, 2008, 11:43 am

Funny! I had the same situation… I was tired, hurt, and just blah- I went anyways though and was able to do my 40 mins… I understand*
