extremes

Future Husband and I went on a nice 5.5 mile run in Blue Jacket Park. It’s the nicest park I’ve ever seen. Even the bathroom structures have columns, and there are beautiful palm trees everywhere:

This run was one of extremes. For the first 3.0 miles, it was raining and cloudy. For the last 2.5 miles, it was BRIGHT, SUNNY, and HOT! I definitely began to overheat. Then, right away I took those pretty pictures, it started to monsoon (again)! But, at least we got our run in! 🙂

Here are my statistics:

  • Duration: 1 hr, 4 minutes (lots of walking with Future Husband)
  • Average Heart Rate: 170 bpm
  • Maximum Heart Rate: 198 bpm
  • Calories Burned: 591

Pre-Workout Snack

Trying to incorporate my new knowledge on the glycemic index, I had a carrot with PB and nf yogurt with blueberries and Kashi Pilaf (this stuff is so versatile!).

I also munched on a Larabar (Cashew Cookie) before the run, and Future Husband and I split the other half on the way home from the park.

Post-Run Snack

When we came home, I made a cheese + spinach pressed sandwich. I enjoyed a nice, juicy plum on the side.

What is your favorite post-workout snack? I need some new good ideas! 🙂

Have a wonderful rest of the day. YAY Friday!
