downtown farmers’ market

in All Posts
this morning we went to the lake eola downtown farmers market, one of the oldest in the area. it’s been around since the 1980s! we love strolling around farmers markets on the weekend, even if we don’t buy a lot. it’s like foodie heaven!
i was STARVING this morning when i woke up. i had a bowl of oatmeal with:

  • 1/2 c. oats
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. water
  • a sliced banana
  • about 7 almonds
  • two chopped apricots.
  • and last but not least, a drizzle of dark brown sugar

on the side i had a cup of coffee, of course. 🙂 it was a little TOO warm at 9 AM to be eating oatmeal on the patio!

after breakfast i woke up FH and our out of town guest, and we drove to downtown orlando. it’s a great downtown area–very walkable–and everything is centered around the huge lake eola. we walked around half of the lake (about .25 mile) and i sipped on an iced coffee.

we browsed the farmers market, but the fruit didn’t look too appetizing (it was so warm that the tomatoes were SWEATING!). i did get a ear of corn from the BBQ stand (skipped the melted butter), which i ate 1/2 of before giving to FH to finish off.

i did buy 1/2 lb of lemon pesto fettuccine (the middle one) for tonight’s dinner. i’m making something new and challenging. sundays are a great day for kitchen experiments! 🙂 it was only $4 for a 1/2 lb of homemade pasta…. what a deal!

well, i’m going to take our friend to the airport, try to squeeze in a light workout, and just relax around the house. my legs aren’t that sore anymore and i can handle a light workout. i have some wedding chores to do, but i’m not really feeling it…. maybe next weekend! only 5 months to go, i’ve got to stop making excuses!
