Nail polish, 3 or 4 lipsticks, day planner, notebook, checkbook, tic tacs, phone and keys. And a ton of receipts…

Just curious, are you still taking your placenta capsules? Wasn’t sure if that’s what those were! :)

Reply

Caitlin February 15, 2013 at 1:06 pm

Oh no! Those are iron. Placenta capsules are long gone sadly.

Reply

Laura February 15, 2013 at 1:08 pm

I opted not to for this pregnancy, but am sort of considering it in the future. Our doula is now certified to encapsulate, so it’d be pretty convenient. How long does one placenta usually go for? That sounds like an awful question, haha.

lol I think mine was gone in 3 weeks.

I don’t have one… Only a diaper bag which includes my wallet and burts bees

Reply

Becky February 15, 2013 at 1:19 pm

you don’t have a purse!? i used to hate it too though… i do this thing where i get a new purse, then it’s clean and pristine and totally organized, and with a week, it looks like a total disaster full of junk, so i can understand your logic! especially as a new mama. im sure i’ll be rockin’ the diaper bag when i have kids (looooong time from now)

I don’t have a purse either! If I’m going somewhere with baby my wallet and phone go in the diaper bag. If baby is not coming with, wallet and phone go in my pocket or hands. It’s too complicated to have a diaper bag and a purse at the same time.

Oh my gosh. I have that exact wallet and I LOVE it. It may be big but I love all the compartments and the removable change purse.

ME TOO!

This made me laugh! I have the random trash all the time in my purse along with a smashed Luna bar! Hair brush, hair tie, 5 lipsticks/lip gloss (strange cause I never wear either), Eos chapstick (love) and my wallet. Oh and some cracker crumbs…don’t ask!

Katie @ Peace Love & Oats February 15, 2013 at 1:22 pm

I have so many random bits of trash in my bag… I use a tote for school and just toss receipts, KIND bar wrappers, and anything else in there and don’t manage to clean it out very often…

You don’t even want to know… I’m expecting twins later this spring so have been shopping for diaper bags as you might imagine and most are smaller than my everyday purse… I carry around soooooo much junk, but you just never know when you might need it!

Rosebud salve, hand cream, wallet, stereo faceplate, iPod, gum and a nail file. Girly.

Wallet, card case with insurance cards, keys, spare keys for both cars, Gold Bond travel hand cream, Burt’s Bees lip balm, Tide stain pen, pen, couple of random gift cards, sugar free gum, hand sanitizer, glasses wipes & microfiber cloth, mini nail files, ID badge for work, extra feminine hygiene items ;) and a lot of random scraps of paper with notes scratched down!

You have so few receipts and random papers! I keep a purse in my purse, 10 million receipts, a flashlight, socks, silverware, shopping list from last year. I once had to maneuver around a hamburger for my debit card. Please, don’t judge ;)

I love when magazines say whats inside celeb purses, so thank you for doing it!! Right now I’m operating on just a wallet (I’m single and live with my parents) but the purses I have all have a tampon, chapstick, hair binder, and gum in them. I’m pretty low maintenance.

Jenn February 15, 2013 at 1:57 pm

Too funny! I’m glad I am not the only one with a disaster of a purse and rando things in it!

I’ve got a LOT of receipts in my purse. I never throw anything away. Although, methinks it’s time to switch purses for just that reason.

Sara February 15, 2013 at 2:10 pm

I carry a wristlet and it contains my phone, keys, chapstick, hand sanitizer, credit cards, discount store cards, etc. That’s it! :-) I know when my baby is born in May this will change. (Well I guess the wristlet will go in the diaper bag.)

Amanda February 15, 2013 at 2:13 pm

Lipstick, pad (even though I haven’t had a period in years! – pregnancy and now breastfeeding), two sets of keys, nametag, a washrag to wipe my pump parts at my work desk, small umbrella, an “Alternative Health Center” brown paper sack, 2 pairs of gloves, folding shopping sack, tons of smashed papers/receipts, checkbook, wallet, hand sanitizer, camera charger, USB drive, bed bath beyond coupon, and cotton breast milk leaking pads for my bra! LOL. Never know when I’m going to need those things. My purse needs a purge, clearly.

We played this game last night! Random items: paint chip and a house siding sample.

I also thought it was humorous that I put on my fancy dress coat that I hadn’t worn in a while, and I found three dog poop bags! Always prepared, I guess.

WHY do they package Baby Mums like that? They always, always end up a crushed mess in your purse. I always am handing my son a tiny piece at a time, saying “I’m sorry!” hahaha

Reply

Caitlin February 15, 2013 at 2:31 pm

i know, they should package the surrounded by cardboard!

Lauren @ Eat Like An Elephant February 15, 2013 at 2:34 pm

My purses are always a mess. I’m so bad at cleaning them out regularly and wind up with gum wrappers galore in there. I’m always saying I’m just going to switch to a smaller bag and try not to accumulate so much crap….yet to happen though ;)

I have a wallet, phone, old iPod, concealer stick, tampons, hair tie, carmex, lip tint and lipstick. I have downgraded to a very small purse that I put inside a larger bag for work.

For fun I looked in the larger bag and found: double sided tape, ipod charger for the car, 6 nail files (guess I kept adding one), legal pad, one bag with bobby pins, hairspray, hair ties and hairnets (for my dance class), toothbrush, tooth paste, gum, hairbrush, velcro rollers, John Grisham book, more tampons, mini umbrella, lunch bag etc.

Maybe it’s time to clean it out.

Thanks for always making me smile with your posts during the day. I love the newer pictures of Henry.

I love that you have TWO forks in your purse. You have no idea how many times I have found myself somewhere in need of a fork (or two!) You’ve inspired me and there is now a fork sitting in my purse. ;)

Hi, i notice you give Henry a lot of baby mum mums. Were you aware they are made in China? I have heard some not so nice things about what could be in them. Just thought i would share…

Reply

Caitlin February 15, 2013 at 3:47 pm

Thanks for letting me know! I was aware and am okay with it.

Hope February 15, 2013 at 4:45 pm

This is exactly why I don’t feed them to my son. Bummer because they look like a good snack. But I won’t feed my dogs anything made in China so I certainly won’t give them to my child.

But that is just my personal opinion for my child. Unless we live in a bubble pretty much everything around us can hurt us and we have to pick and choose what we worry about.

I have a tiny purse, so there’s not much in there. Burt’s Bees lip balm, lip gloss, wristlet, cell phone, and a pack of gum. I keep wanting to buy a bigger purse so I can carry more stuff around. :) Happy Friday!

I love that you had two forks in your purse, because I almost always have a LEAST one spoon. Because it is totally normal to always also carry around a yogurt in a cooler for a snack, right?

A friend who works in corporate for a clothing company gave me my favorite purse, the one I’m using now. I love it because it’s HUGE. It doesn’t look that big on its own, but I can fit an entire week’s worth of groceries (for one person) in it! Aside from the usual wallet, gum, etc., right now I have a textbook, notebook, laptop cord, and university hoodie in my purse. I just got back from my favorite study spot in the library.

I have issues with organization with some things and my purse is fairly organized and tidy but there are a lot of items in there.
Can I order Operation Beautiful post-its? Im an alum of a sorority on the east coast of Cananda and we have been doing Operation Beautiful as a Rush event.

Dominique February 15, 2013 at 8:32 pm

I did this one time and had over a dozen items including a packet of microwaveable popcorn. That was probably the weirdest thing in there. I love seeing what people keep in their purses.

Amber K February 15, 2013 at 8:42 pm

I carry a bag I got for free from a magazine. It’s only big enough to carry: my wallet, a coin purse, a lip balm and an extra hair tie. If I try to add just one more item it’ll burst! lol

Christine @ BookishlyB February 15, 2013 at 10:11 pm

Ha! As soon as I saw your big ol’ supplements my first thought was “damn, she carries around the placenta pills in her purse?” ;)

My purse is super basic- wallet, assorted lip glosses, my phone, gum, keys and receipts.
