Out of Motivation?

I saw this awesome graphic on the web and wanted to share it with you all.  I’ve really been using positive mantras and reminders to encourage myself to make the healthier exercise and diet choices lately – it’s so-so-so much more effective than cajoling or bribing.  If you need some positive motivation, too, here are a bunch of awesome phrases to repeat to yourself!

The only one of the mantras that I do not like is the “Screw the injury and the pain” one – that’s just silly.  Injuries blow, but don’t make ‘em worst.  But I especially love, “I inspire myself.”  Because isn’t that the best cycle?  When you are inspired by your own awesomeness? Go out and GET IT!

Oh I love this! I like the part about “I’m setting aside time for ME” and “I will succeed”. Finding your motivation really does make all the difference in the world!

I always remind myself that “I am Strong” and “I can do this” or some version of that.

I was looking at those sayings and the F* the injury one rubbed me the wrong way too, funny how you said the same thing. Love the rest though especially “I’ll beat the odds” It makes it like a competition and being super competitive, that one is definitely motivating!

I always try to remind myself that I am blessed to be able to get out and exercise. Not everyone is luck enough to be able to run or even walk for that matter, so I have to use my gift :)

Thanks for sharing!! Love the “I will surprise myself.” No matter what, we are always stronger than we give ourselves credit for.

I love the idea of “I’m going to feel so much better after I workout” – I think visualization can be powerful! Thinking about how much better you’ll feel in 10 hours because you worked out/got those endorphins. But I agree that it’s also very important to listen to your body and rest when needed.

I like the… I have the power within myself to feel fabulous.

For the past week and a half I’ve been waking up at 5:30 to practice yoga for 30-40 minutes before my boyfriend gets up/I start making breakfast/packing lunches/getting ready. It is so not easy but it makes a WORLD of a difference when I go to work and sit at my desk for 9 hours (ick). It gives me a renowned sense of spirit and makes me feel better, regardless what the day may bring!

My favorite is “I have the power within myself to feel fabulous.”

Also, I think “Exercise produces endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands” ought to be on there!!

I like this a lot. Lately I’ve been motivated out of the sheer thankfulness I feel for my body. It’s let me train for two half marathons without any (knock on wood!) injuries whatsoever. I feel like that’s just awesome, and it motivates me to keep going!

Pinned it!
I really needed this – been feeling very unmotivated as of late :(

Love this! I always prepare some mantras before a marathon and recently decided to use them when not running, too – they work so why not! Thanks for giving me more ideas. :)

Thanks! Yes, I saw the injury one and thought the same…wish I could do that, but it’s not that easy! ;)

My favourite mantra is from a Nike ad, “Yesterday you said tomorrow”. It’s good because it’s true.

I want a copy of this poster to put on my wall by me exercise stuff. I’d love to read it while I’m riding my bike or lifting every morning.

I’m so glad you mentioned that screw the injury one. I was immediately turned off and didn’t even want to read the rest of them if they were going to be like that. That’s just crazy to me!
