April Fools

in All Posts

Come on, did you really think I would eat Burger King for breakfast AND randomly decide to run a marathon with no training?  Looks like I tricked quite a few of you!

Do you do April Fools pranks? I LOVE them!  I try to pull a big prank every year.

This year…. I scanned the Husband’s acupuncture college letterhead into PhotoShop and type up the following letter, which I slipped into the mailbox….

Dear Husband:

We believe our students should learn Oriental medicine technologies (acupuncture, herbs, etc) and clinical practices, along with Western biomedical sciences, as well as the practical skills necessary to run a successful practice.  As a result, we have added a new class to the Spring 2009 schedule. This class will follow Herbology II on Mondays beginning in May and will run for four weeks.

Introduction to Tattooing Procedures for Acupuncture Professionals is an introductory course designed to guide you through the principles of the ancient art of tattooing. The course will cover the following topics:

· Equipment Used and Working in Sterile Environment

· Tattoo Machine Maintenance and Tuning

· Black and Grey Shading

· Tattoo Restoration

· Tattoo Cover-Up

· Making Tattoo Needles

The course will conclude with a two-day long apprenticeship in a real tattoo parlor in Orlando. The exact location will be determined by the end of the month. If you have any courses about this course, please contact Dr. Blah Blah Blah.

Thank you,

Dr. Blah Blah Blah

HAHAH! He only believed it from a split second, but then he thought it was a practical joke from his college!  I told him it was actually MY prank.

Here’s what I really ate for breakfast… French toast, blackberries, a banana, and coffee.  With maple syrup for dipping.

And here’s lunch:

I made a Organic Chicken sausage hot dog with melted cheddar cheese and ketchup.

Plus, grapes and a side salad.

What’s the best prank you’ve pulled?

  • VeggieGirl April 1, 2009, 9:07 am

P.S. to Rhiannnon in the last post:

    Get over yourself.

  • Meghann April 1, 2009, 9:10 am

I haven’t had a chicken sausage in forver, I need to pick some up. Yum!

And I just realized how similar Kristien’s class scedule sound to the classes they take in Harry Potter. is her really studying to become a wizard and you’re just hiding it from us? lol 🙂

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point April 1, 2009, 9:10 am

meghann – hahahaha yes he’s really a wizard. it’s pretty sweet.

  • Katie April 1, 2009, 9:17 am

Your real breakfast looks MUCH better!

I’m not good at pranks. I can’t keep a straight face to save my life.

  • Tina April 1, 2009, 9:26 am

I did think the marathon was a little ambitious! I’m glad you’re saving your knees! 🙂

  • inmytummy April 1, 2009, 9:26 am

I am always so gullable. I have been telling myself all morning that if I hear something that sounds out of the ordinary, it’s a prank!

  • therunningaddict April 1, 2009, 9:31 am

    HAHA you are so cute!!!
When I was in grade school I had some very good Dutch friends and we used to play pranks on McDonalds staff; you know, foreigners, and we too advantage of the language barrier!

  • Dori April 1, 2009, 9:33 am

Haha I am not into pranks at all!! Your french toast looks so great though — and that was a funny letter to your husband!

  • Meg April 1, 2009, 9:33 am

    Great April Fool’s joke!

    That chicken sausage looks yummy!

  • redheadedjournal April 1, 2009, 9:36 am

I am horrible at trying to trick people!

  • runsarah April 1, 2009, 10:00 am

I don’t usually pull pranks..I am not creative enough! I certainly fall for them though.

  • Hallie April 1, 2009, 10:03 am

That was really funny…I too would have believed the BK but then the marathon would have tripped me up. But I read this post first so I didn’t have time to feel stupid 🙂 The comments though in the last post are PRICELESS. Kudos.

(I am terrible at pranks. My BF’s birthday is today too and I can’t come up with anything fun other than calling him old, which is more mean than prank-y, but it’s funny to me just the same!)

  • Tyler April 1, 2009, 10:03 am

    that breakfast looks much yummier!

i like pranks, too…today i’ve been telling people i’m signing up for a full iron man triathlon (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run). everyone has believed me so far! guess my friends and family think i’m crazy…

  • jane April 1, 2009, 10:08 am

haha i loved that! i’m trying to think of a prank to pull on the bf but i’m totally stumped! it’s hard when it’s a long-distance prank haha

  • Danielle April 1, 2009, 10:26 am

I can’t believe how many people you fooled, although if someone hadn’t been talking about April Fool’s day earlier I too might have been tricked!

  • Brandi April 1, 2009, 10:29 am

    yeah , I’m pretty gullible!

although, I wouldn’t put the marathon past you when you just ran 3 races in one weekend! 🙂

  • Jen April 1, 2009, 10:40 am

I am so freaking gullible, seriously! I haven’t pulled any great pranks because I never think of them and never know when someone’s pulling one on me!

  • Betsy April 1, 2009, 10:41 am

    Yeah I’m an idiot… I didn’t realize until I saw Meghann’s blog.

I’m not usually a prankster but today at lunch I told Joe that this morning I made an impulse decision to open a new credit card online and I charged up $600 worth of random crap. He believed me….for a few minutes. 🙂

  • Carolina John April 1, 2009, 10:51 am

    haha, that’s great!

  • girlrunningaround April 1, 2009, 11:07 am

LOL. I thought that was a big breakfast for you. 😉

  • kristi April 1, 2009, 11:07 am

You two chicas are crazy (in a good way of course)! Nice prank on the hubby!

  • Julia April 1, 2009, 11:14 am

WOW!!! What a great April Fool’s Prank! I totally believed your morning post about the marathon! haha! Good one!

  • Erin D. April 1, 2009, 11:27 am

I thought the same thing as Meghann about being a wizard… how COOL would that be to have a wizard for a husband?!

  • RunningWithin April 1, 2009, 11:49 am

Lol, yeah you got me for a few seconds, but in my defense, it was five thirty a.m. my time when I read it! Then I scrolled down to comment and remembered it was April Fools Day. Love the prank on your hubby! At my last house, my old roommate glued a quarter to the sidewalk outside of our house on April 1st, it was hilarious, everyone that walked by kept trying to pick it up again and again..

  • kristisummer April 1, 2009, 11:50 am

haven’t done a prank yet, thanks for the reminder. your lunch loks wonderful!

  • Matt April 1, 2009, 11:55 am

    Haha. Nice prank!

    Lunch looks delicious!

  • Sara April 1, 2009, 11:58 am

You did have me for a second, but then I thought, “That’s an awfully big, greasy and different breakfast for Caitlin!” ha ha! Your real breakfast and lunch look yummy. I like how you use hot dog buns a lot. I’m all about that too.

  • healthy ashley April 1, 2009, 12:00 pm

NO WAY! Man, you are good at pranks!

I’m going to pretend like that wasn’t a joke because it kind of pushed me closer to deciding whether or not I will run a marathon myself!

I did think it was odd that Meghann left an immediate comment as her decision to run a marathon!

You’re crazy. You got me! 🙂

  • nibblesandwiggles April 1, 2009, 12:27 pm

hehe what a great prank on your hubby. Nope, I don’t ever prank or get pranked. BORING! 🙂

  • Anonymous April 1, 2009, 12:37 pm

where do you buy the chicken sausage hot dogs? What is the approx. calorie count for one of those?

  • Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point April 1, 2009, 12:39 pm

anon – they have them in the meat section of my grocery store. their all organic and a little pricey ($4.5 for 4) but really good and worth it occasionally. i think they are 180 calories each.

  • Mariposa April 1, 2009, 12:41 pm

thats a great prank! love the french toast! and thanks for your comment on my blog- im glad you liked it!

  • Thinspired April 1, 2009, 2:24 pm

Hehe–that was cute 😉 I am not really a prankster and in fact, am seriously gullible! I believed the headline this morning that Robert Pattison wasn’t returning to film New Moon!

  • teacherwoman April 1, 2009, 2:27 pm

I actually thought you ate BK, but didn’t believe race. It must have been early when I read that post. LOL!

  • redheadyellowdog April 1, 2009, 2:46 pm

love that letter!! hahaha so good.

  • Lisa D. April 1, 2009, 3:27 pm

that is a good prank! official letter forgery, I may be able to try that someday. Otherwise I don’t prank because I stink. By the way, you had me with the BK but when you said you were going to run a marathon I remembered what day it was and had a big A-HA moment!

  • Kristi April 1, 2009, 3:48 pm

Hahah yep I’m totally gullible. (sp?) I didn’t doubt you one bit! Must have been a little too early in the morning for me! 😉

  • Adi (oatonomy.com) April 1, 2009, 5:08 pm

YES I believed that marathon prank. I thought “wow, she’s ambitious, I thought she wanted a break!”
    🙂 I’m too gullible.

  • Anonymous April 1, 2009, 5:58 pm
